I can access other forums on lemmy.dbzer0 with Sync, and I can access !piracy from a web browser and other apps so I know the community isn't banned. Seems like Sync can't connect to !piracy specifically.
Is this intentional? Is anyone else having this issue?
Edit: Nevermind, I forgot the smooth-brained lemmy.world admins blocked this community. Time to make another account haha

I personally can't stand an instance where the admins block other instances based on their personal beliefs.
In this case however, I imagine they are afraid of legal issues, which makes sense, being the largest instance.

I'm beleive the "personal belief" here was, that they would get sued and it would destroy the site

Which goes to show that there is a huge chilling effect when it comes to our legal system.
But in the case of lemmy and the fediverse, the old adage applies: The fediverse sees censorship as damage and routes around it.
