Hi, I'm Senex Foedus Crassus. Pleasure to meet you.

Asafum@feddit.nl · 5 pts · 2y

I'm Foedus Galber Humilis the Imbecillis, first of his name!

(and hopefully last.)

ganksy@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y (5 replies)

Why is Imbacillis weak not dim?

HK65@sopuli.xyz · 12 pts · 2y (1 reply)

I guess the etymology of the English word imbecile comes from a Latin word meaning physically weak.

samus12345@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 2y

Exactly. It came to mean "mentally weak."

lunarul@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 2y (1 reply)

Romans were not great at English I guess

ganksy@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 2y

Lol

Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 2y

Imbécillis. They're not germy or diseased

(well they might be but that's not the only way to be weak)
