Wasting time on the Fediverse is so much nicer than the other socal (and beyond! Also social, too.) media I used to waste time on.

Good news! The fediverse isn't limited to SoCal!

For me, I came to think of my dog. I have joint custody of him. Every time he is with me it makes me happy. He makes me happy. I may be ill and exhausted but he makes it worthwhile to keep going. His unfiltered joy brings me joy. I treasure our moments together. Good boy is good.

This morning coffee is so good. Lactose-intolerant partner is gone for a week so I bought real cream to go into it. I don't mind the plant-based stuff at all, the occasional real cream is all the better.

Do they not have lactose-free cream where you live?

People conflate lactose intolerance with a dairy allergy, but lactose is a sugar that is easily removed during processing of milk/cream, and there's a lot of milk products nowadays that have lactose removed (milk, cream, half&half) or never had lactose to begin with (most hard cheeses).

Lactose-free milk is easy enough to find, but cream is harder to find and is much more expensive here when it is available. Partner also has a preference for plant-based for other reasons, so it's simplest to keep that on hand so any cooking and baking results in something we can both eat.

I mean why not just use different creams?

arality@programming.dev · 4 pts · 1y

My wife and I use this same setup. Honestly it's easier to manage one, vs keeping track of two. Also I'm not sure we would get through separate ones before they went bad.

I CAN READ!

Not everybody gets to learn to read and for that I feel blessed.

I'm sitting here all comfy/cozy. I'm warm, with a full fridge, and a house all to myself with today and tomorrow off work. The feral pack of kittens I feed is trusting me more and more.

What question?

dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 1y (4 replies)

The question: "What is the first good thing that comes to mind when reading this question?".

driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br · 1 pts · 1y (3 replies)

"What question?" Was the first thing I tough after reading that.

dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

OK, but that doesn't sound like the "first good thing" that came to your mind when reading the question. Just sounds like the first thing you thought.

driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Lmao, I completely skipped the "good" word on the question, had to read it a couple times to find it.

dandelion@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 1y

yeah, I guess it's a bit of an unexpected part of the title, lol

I quickly skimmed the title and got:

"What is the first... mind... reading... question?"

answer: "Do these pants make me look fat?"
