Perfect for when you accidentally click on one of their embedded posts. Hurray!

metaStatic@kbin.earth · 16 pts · 1y (5 replies)

There's a plugin that disables that trash.

ohellidk@sh.itjust.works · 9 pts · 1y (4 replies)

what's it called?

OhNoMoreLemmy@lemmy.ml · 28 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Privacy badger does this.

Every embedded link to Twitter requires you to click to enable them.

BreadOven@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

I use this as well. Works great for me at least.

I use UBo. I'll have to set that.

If you're still on Twitter/X, you might as well join Truth Social.

ChilledPeppers@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 1y (2 replies)

If you want to see a post for some reason, use nitter! My fav instance is xcancel.com

flambonkscious@sh.itjust.works · 6 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Holy crap, is it still working?

I thought nitter died...

Mwa@lemm.ee · 4 pts · 1y

Xcancel is using multiple accounts to scrap the data,so you can say it's nitter but it's modified to show data from those accounts.

x (formerly twitter)... you mean twitter (desperately x)

even elon calls it twitter dude why are people still pretending they have to honor a rebrand of a company by a dipshit who deadnames and misgenders his own kid.

reksas@sopuli.xyz · 13 pts · 1y (1 reply)

just call it xitter (pronounced shitter) as that is what it is, full of shit

pyre@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

nah, i realize it's popular around here but it still acknowledges the rebrand. I just don't want to.

pyre@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y

it's not though. only musk glazers make an effort to call it x. everyone either says twitter or does something with parentheses. if it were currently known as x people would've stopped mentioning both names. it's been more than a year now. complete failure of a rebrand IMO.

SynopsisTantilize@lemm.ee · 40 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yea I have a bunch of anti tracking shit on Firefox mobile and desktop and it breaks so many normie sites. If it breaks the site, move on. Fuck em.

Don_alForno@feddit.org · 20 pts · 1y

That means it's working.

Eczpurt@lemmy.world · 38 pts · 1y

Good.

Mango@lemmy.world · 24 pts · 1y

Firefox isn't causing issues. X is.

Vaggumon@lemm.ee · 19 pts · 1y

Super easy fix, barely an inconvenience. Don't fucking use Twitter.

Empricorn@feddit.nl · 16 pts · 1y

If you have the choice between Firefox and Xitter and are conflicted... What are you even doing with your life??

middlemanSI@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 1y (5 replies)

I cringe so hard when they write "let's". Let's never meet again

doughless@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y (3 replies)

I'm a little confused, that's pretty typical usage of the word. Or is it because it comes across a little pretentious? As though they're just trying to cooperate with you to more easily violate your privacy.

Paradachshund@lemmy.today · 14 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I can't speak for OP, but personally it makes my bullshit detector kick into high gear any time a corporate channel talks in a casual, friendly tone like that. It comes across as very insincere and infantalizing to me.

Pandemanium@lemm.ee · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I hate to break it to you but almost every major corporation has a person whose entire job is to translate corporate copy into easy-to-parse, casual, friendly "conversation," because they do want you to think of the brand as your trusted friend. They're trying to manipulate us at every level, every interaction.

Paradachshund@lemmy.today · 3 pts · 1y

Well of course I know him, he's me (not anymore thankfully, but I have had to write that kind of copy before)

elvith@feddit.org · 4 pts · 1y

reloads, cocks gun Yeah, let's give it another shot!

BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 1y

I deleted that dumpster fire the minute old Space Karen bought it. I wasn't tweeting but I used it to read some people. But I'm ok to give that up to never ever support what fuckface does.
