Tankie believes women's rights in Afghanistan are the same as the US

Honorable mention for the one bellow wondering what bad decisions the DPRK has taken.

Edit: Title typo

They also think NK is food stable lol

possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip · 50 pts · 1y

It is stable in the sense that they have been starving for a long time

No food.

"Refusing aid to a tyrannical murdering regime is just virtue signaling that hurts the innocent."

"Upholding a tyrannical murdering regime with aid is the same as performing its murders yourself."

Which one do tankies believe? Well, it depends on whether the tyrannical murdering regime is pro-US or anti-US.

I’ve had yogthos blocked since like my second day on lemmy, you’re a braver person than me just tagging them.

Stanley_Pain@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 27 pts · 1y (9 replies)

He's literally Russian so no surprise there.

Glide@lemmy.ca · 25 pts · 1y (4 replies)

Funny, I called him out on being more interested in attacking Liberalism and supporting fascist regimes than actually speaking out against human rights crimes, and noted that he has a concerning bias towards political spheres which currently have an approaching/ongoing election. My suspicion became that he's a tankie programmer who happens to just like this space in his down time, but genuine Putin praising Russian citizen/asset was never really off the table.

TexMexBazooka@lemm.ee · 17 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I’m convinced at least one of the .Ml admins are literally just paid shills for totalitarian regimes (Davel). Yogthos has the same link spam with no substance argumentation.

What’s interesting and telling is these guys’ rhetoric isn’t actually focused on particular issues, but exclusively the actions of states and how Russia, China, and North Korea are all pinnacles of morality and success, while US bad.

The more of their shit you read the more obvious it becomes

And they run the instance

Idk. Doesn’t bode well for Lemmy long term, they make the entire software stink

Glide@lemmy.ca · 8 pts · 1y

Weirdly glad to see your experiences mirror mine, even if they make a sad reality.

This is my concern, too. I do respect what they've created - getting social networking out of the hands of corporations and functioning as a decentralized collective is a good idea - but as I said somewhere else, the ideology that led to this shared goal looks to be problematic. I have no interest in trading capital-fascism for good ol' fashioned fascism.

This is where I am as well. There's a real possibility that .ml is funded intentionally as a training and on-boarding forum for troll farm recruits to get some practice in before they get promoted to reddit and Facebook. I suspect the people behind some of these more notable accounts are different people every month.

I'm not sure if he's currently in Russia, but he definitely has a Russian passport as evidenced by a pic he posted a year or so ago. Could be safe for all I know too

borari@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 9 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Is he a Russian immigrant to Canada, or just a Canadian with Russian ancestry?

Stanley_Pain@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 12 pts · 1y (1 reply)

He posted a pic of him holding a Russian passport. Not sure if his or not.

Valmond@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y

Must be true then. /s

His parents left Russia when he was very young. He cannot move to Russia because he has a cushy job in the health sector and also because he's generally lazy and doesn't actually want to move to Russia, no money there.

im gonna use this as a part of my plan to blast a tankie with everything I've gotten. thanks for ammo!

The DPRK is genius

It is much less of a burden if you don't feed people

AwesomeLowlander@sh.itjust.works · 23 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Occasionally I wonder if I should unblock .ml to get more content, then I always remember why they're blocked in the first place.

Draghetta@lemmy.world · 12 pts · 1y (1 reply)

If you’re into brainrot might as well install tiktok and watch skibidi toilet knockoffs, still better content than tankie hogwash

FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 7 pts · 1y

Yup, and less horrifying than people casually defending genocides

hitwright@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 1y

If you jerk their chains enough, they will block you ;)

FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 17 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Man I blocked yungthos ages ago. I don’t know if I’d even be going on lemmy if I couldn’t block people like him.

socsa@piefed.social · 6 pts · 1y

I'm honestly surprised the account didn't take some time off after the election.

affiliate@lemmy.world · 15 pts · 1y (11 replies)

how did you get the tankie flares to show up on those people? did you have to add them manually?

TheFrirish@jlai.lu · 21 pts · 1y (6 replies)

I add them manually on the Voyager app you should try it! I think Connect has it as well

Draghetta@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Oh, I thought they were user flares and those people had a modicum of self awareness. Silly me to attribute double digit neurons to tankies.

TheFrirish@jlai.lu · 13 pts · 1y (2 replies)

I'm just marking them just to see how much of my feed they take up

FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Perso, je bloque, je comprend pas ton courage.

TheFrirish@jlai.lu · 5 pts · 1y

Ça me permet de faire du recensement au moins pour notre instance.

affiliate@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 1y

oh that is really nice to know about. i've been using voyager for about a year now and i'm constantly surprised by all the wonderful features they keep adding.

Valmond@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 1y

Connect has it, it's a life saver!

BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz · 2 pts · 1y (3 replies)

I suppose they just edited the picture

TheFrirish@jlai.lu · 9 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Using tags on Voyager to identify people.

Also... Boom you got tagged!

BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Wait, I didn’t know about this feature! Ty !

And how do you enable separate upvote/downvote ?

TheFrirish@jlai.lu · 7 pts · 1y

no worries cool username by the way. learned something today

Atomic@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 1y (1 reply)

These are the people who call South Korea for "Occupied Korea". Anything will always circle back to something bad the US does.

All you need is to look at their post history to see the clear agenda. I hope he gets paid. Otherwise it's just sad.

goat@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 1y

They don't get paid. I doubt any of them are paid.

pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 9 pts · 1y (3 replies)

yogothos is a known tankie

possiblylinux127@lemmy.zip · 1 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Is he still around? I think he has been blocked by a lot of instances

pewgar_seemsimandroid@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

instances can block users??? i think I've blocked him myself. edit: apparently not.
