Just kidding, I don't know of a linux version of pic basic, but you could still program on your arch, but compile on windoze. For example through a shared folder. You could probably automate it too, to compile when there are changes etc.

I could probably live on 8, 16 would be totally ok but now I'm "future proof". For some time I bet, at least on my linux. Windows 13 will probably need 64GB just to boot.
