I took a class in college that made us memorize all the recognized countries and their locations. I have to admit that I don't use that information much and would struggle to accurately name and correctly locate more than a third of them. Its been a long time since I graduated, this feels like use it or lose it type of info, I'm more of a science type.

Same in High School. They taught us the countries Freshman year and re-tested us Senior year to see what we retained.
I got several in South American and African countries "wrong" because the names changed in the 4 years since they taught us. LOL.
