So far, the reviewers have been glowing about drinking it.

superkret@feddit.org · 66 pts · 1y (9 replies)

How it tastes?

Not great, not terrible.

Darkard@lemmy.world · 33 pts · 1y (8 replies)

Its been measured at 3.6% ABV

CallMeButtLove@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 1y (2 replies)

But this equipment only measures up to 3.6% ABV!

We got the high-range boozimeter from the safe, but it burned out instantly.

ralakus@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Isn't most vodka around 40% abv?

Edit: Found their website https://www.atomikvodka.com/

Buy our unique 5x distilled Apple Spirit (42% ABV) and the First Release of our new Apple Brandy (42% ABV) aged in Ukrainian oak

Looks like 42% ABV

Ah that makes sense. Gotta add it to my long list of things I should watch

vale@sh.itjust.works · 45 pts · 1y (11 replies)

interesting to note that the process of distillation removes radioactive particles from the product, making it safe to drink

If distilling removes the radioactive particles, then no, it isn't.

BuboScandiacus@mander.xyz · 12 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Not drinking vodka is more safe than drinking vodka

Klear@lemmy.world · 17 pts · 1y (1 reply)

True, but it comes with the downside of not drinking vodka.

667@lemmy.radio · 10 pts · 1y

I need some vodka to deal with this

...And that is why I hate chemistry.
It's just alchemy disguised as a science.

Revan343@lemmy.ca · 12 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Unless there's tritium in it (which is unlikely, half-life is too short)

TheBrideWoreCrimson@sopuli.xyz · 8 pts · 1y

There could also be ^14^C, a beta emitter with a half life of 5730 years.

Too bad the boar doesn't have extra legs.

And009@reddthat.com · 1 pts · 1y

Wonder how that'd affect the sales. Could either become local flop or a worldwide hit.

ininewcrow@lemmy.ca · 10 pts · 1y (7 replies)

It's true what they say: Russians and vodka don't mix. It's like eating a spoonful of Drano; sure, it'll clean you out, but it'll leave you hollow inside.

this should've been an energy drink, I've been saying dor years how Monster tastes like radiation or electricity

Granted Atomik is a fire name for a radiation vodka though, so they got me beat in that department

LovableSidekick@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y

Make a Molotov cocktail outta that stuff and you could level Moscow! Running away fast enough is a problem.

ThatGuyNamedZeus@feddit.org · 8 pts · 1y (9 replies)

I thought vodka was made with potatoes.

Renzowolf@pawb.social · 2 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Anything containing sugar can be turned into alcohol. Some easier than others.

Kolanaki@yiffit.net · 1 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Sure, but what makes vodka vodka and not, say, brandy or moonshine if not the starting material you're fermenting?

Hawk@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 1y

Vodka is pretty much just ethanol. It doesn't have (and isn't supposed to have) any taste or smell.

It can be made with pretty much everything.

PsychedSy@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 1y

Processes. Vodka is just neutral spirits. Think of what makes whisky whisky.

not_so_handsome_jack@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 1y

It can be made with either! I think most vodka you get (at least in the US) is made with grain, but there are distillers who specifically make potato vodka, too.

portuga@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Potatoes are a grain? Actually where do potatoes come from? I know they can come from other potatoes, but of course there must be a grain.

These are the hard questions

ArtVandelay@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Potatoes are a starch.

portuga@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I don’t want to go on a wikipedia hunt right now, for potato starch, but if you could educate me further, I would appreciate it

ArtVandelay@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

Not much to it, The starch is essentially just a type of complex carbohydrate, and potatoes are known to carry them in abundance. So while a potato is still technically a vegetable, it's often referred to as a starch or starchy vegetable because of how much starch it contains.

pufferfischerpulver@feddit.org · 7 pts · 1y

Why do I really want to drink it? The distillation removes any radioactive particles making it safe to drink. And it just seems so fucking metal??

JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 1y

Is it easy to find in the dark?
