I feel so sorry for children with gay dads.

They're never gonna be able to live up to their dads' sense of style. 😔

Oh my god I didn't even think of that! Yikes! Those poor poor kids ...

Kid: Dad I'm hungry!

Dad1: Hi hungry, I'm Dad!

Dad2: Hi Dad, I'm Dad!

Dad1: Hi Dad! I'm Dad!

Etc for an infinite loop.

And if they are the children of lesbians, then it's an eternity of "go ask your mom."

Parents telling their kids "Oh! You are NOT going out wearing THAT!" suddenly has an all new meaning.

"Stripes and plaid, honey, puh-lease!"

I can't figure this one out. Is it an actual dad joke or is it a meta dad joke where the joke is that "dad joke" = joke about dads?

🤷

Why the heck is this joke so controversial?

reattach@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 1y (2 replies)

It's not so much a joke as a recitation of a tired stereotype

Slovene@feddit.nl · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Probably. Although I suspect at least one person downvoted because they thought it was actually a post why gay people shouldn't be parents.

as much as I disagree with the "OnLy 7% Of MeAnInG GetS IntO tExt FoRmAt!!1!1" saying, this is one of those times where the removal of tone/body language can make a joke fall flat :/
