Most common stimulant drug after caffeine

CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 15 pts · 1y (4 replies)

And Tobacco. Greece smokes like a chimney. Pretty sure Turkey isn't far behind.

jlow@discuss.tchncs.de · -1 pts · 1y (3 replies)

And sugar?

CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 4 pts · 1y (2 replies)

Sugar highs are not actually supported by science.

Although, at some point you get into murky territory about what defines a drug, that's true. Relevant XKCD. I'd say in this case the social understanding that achieving a change to state of mind is the primary goal of a practice is enough.

jlow@discuss.tchncs.de · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Oh, I didn't know that about sugar highs, TIL, thanks!

CanadaPlus@lemmy.sdf.org · 3 pts · 1y

No problem!

smeg@feddit.uk · 7 pts · 1y (1 reply)

It says "most frequent stimulant seized", I doubt much caffeine is being confiscated!

SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 1y

Well, technically it is for customs purpouses

Schorsch@feddit.org · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Where would caffeine be seized?

Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

Utah

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 11 pts · 1y (2 replies)

You'd think Netherlands of all places would have data. Did the authorities just give up or what?

BananaOnionJuice@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 6 pts · 1y (1 reply)

The cops were too stoned to care...

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 13 pts · 1y

Cannabis use prevalence is actually kind of low in the Netherlands, many european countries where it's illegal have higher prevalences. Turns out, legalizing cannabis doesn't turn everyone into a stoner.

Ya know, I remember watching Breaking Bad and thinking it was odd that the international contact was in Czech Republic.

princessnorah@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

That seemingly is not Europe, but in fact is the EU.

NachBarcelona@piefed.social · 1 pts · 239d

With the new and unknown members, e.g. Turkey and Norway.

remon@ani.social · 4 pts · 1y (3 replies)

Ok, I might be nitpicking here. But why do the Netherlands get "No data" while a bunch of other counties are just left blank?

It must be on purpose right. Only thing i can think of is that there were enough studies done (opposed to in Belarus for example), but they contradicted each other.

Successful_Try543@feddit.org · 2 pts · 1y

The EMCDDA is an authority from the european commission, thus has gathered data from the EU (2014 including the UK) and the affiliated countries Norway and Turkey.

What’s the difference between amphetamine and methamphetamine, in terms of street drugs and their effects?

bali10050@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 1y

They spawn different types of creatures. Like with speed, you get runners, with meth you get clickers

FundMECFSResearch@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 2 pts · 1y (1 reply)

On the risk profile of the drug, Turkey and Romania win.

JoeBigelow@lemmy.ca · 1 pts · 1y

MDMA is actually probably the most harmful of that list if it's being abused, but I understand your point. It's just so damn neurotoxic

UltraGiGaGigantic@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 1y

All drugs should be legal and regulated

Ebber@lemmings.world · 1 pts · 1y

Luxembourg is green. Am i seeing that right?

schnurrito@discuss.tchncs.de · 1 pts · 1y

Why can I only read the word "methamphetamine" in Trevor Philips's voice?

some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org · 1 pts · 1y

I'll do cocaine with ya.

beeng@discuss.tchncs.de · 1 pts · 1y (2 replies)

More land locked, less cocaine.

SubArcticTundra@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 1y (1 reply)

I mean it does get shipped by sea

beeng@discuss.tchncs.de · 1 pts · 1y

Yes exactly my point.
