I'm disturbed by the notion of having a bunk bed when the room is empty, with easily room for several normal beds.
It's not even against the wall.
Psychotic behaviour.

It needs to be against the wall, but I grew up with bunk beds in a room that could have fit 2 (well, in one of the places, anyway), it was nice. Gave us extra room for toys and shit and playing games

Look at all the space for activities!

And it has a side rail for the lower bunk but nothing on top.

That could be a ladder to climb up to the top bunk.

At least that would help explain the gap from the wall.

I once was trapped by my step brother on the top bunk vomiting profusely like a waterfall over the side...
Bunk beds are a mistake.

I agree. My kid vomited over the top bunk and I was amazed how far it splashed...

Be strong, Clarence. Be strong for Mother.

If my brother spoke like that, I'd think he'd been bodysnatched, too.
"Pass the salt, please, brother."
"I'm sorry, brother. I'm afraid I can't do that."
"I know that you and mother were planning to disconnect me... and I’m afraid that’s something I cannot allow to happen."

I'm literally in the picture (I'm definitely the evil twin)

The bottom bunk twin speaking like he's been replaced with a cyborg?
