And, if he'd lost the coin toss, he would have decided he should flip again, because that one didn't count.

“best of three”

kamen@lemmy.world · 8 pts · 1y

... and then you conveniently forget what you've called for heads and tails.

The best way to make a decision you're "50/50" on. Flip a coin. If you're disappointed with the result, pick the other one, you wanted it more than 50.

I’m way to smart for this so I couldn’t believe it when my totally rational and super scientific mind fell for this and it’s worked over and over.

dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net · 12 pts · 1y

Or just think “I meant heads I call them” and skip the second coin flip

Ruthalas@infosec.pub · 3 pts · 1y (1 reply)

My dead brain was doing the physics wondering about frames of reference and the speed of the coin. I figured it out. It will always land on heads.

samus12345@sh.itjust.works · 5 pts · 1y (1 reply)

Yes, but as a warning NOT TO DO IT!

ivanafterall@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 1y

But that's not what the man in the meme did. I'll just check in, really quick, just to say hi. It'll be fine. I can handle this.

All I could think while reading is that this man has ventured too far into a stranger's personal space. I suppose that's why I'd never live somewhere like NY or LA, affordability aside. I don't want strangers that close to me constantly.
