I'm starting to think about retirement. Not very seriously, it's still over a decade away - but in a "how the hell are we going to get a house and pay it off before that?" kinda way.
But if we somehow manage it, retirement is going to be awesome.
30C outside, 24C in the shade, perfectly cool but not cold breeze, just the sound of leaves rustling, and I have the place to myself for 1 hour while everyone goes out for an appointment. A moment of bliss... There are times where I've started missing the familiarity of Melbourne but in this moment I am definitely not missing it
I was just having a coffee and I looked up and I saw a mouse running out of the kitchen. it ran straight towards my dog, over his paws and around him and under the couch. He looked at me like what the hell did you see that ? Useless dog sigh
Everyone is bringing their kids into the office today. Two people have already swung by with their kids and mine are coming this afternoon. The women in the office are getting spoiled
It's a little different when it's your own kid. A guy's 3 year old daughter comes into the office here and all the women rush from their desks to form a circle around her.
Some of the office peeps and I went out to out local Malaysian place, always an excellent feed. Now I'm trying to stay awake at my desk. Today is shaping up to be an excellent food day!
I went chipotle chicken today. Normally, from this place, I favour their barbacoa.
I don't get work burrito very often. Normally my work lunch of choice is crispy pork or crispy eggplant banh mi from the excellent banh mi joint, but the line there was mental
Edit: I am also hating how Apple Music works now. Thought Iโd try to buy some of the music I like to rely less on YouBoob but itโs so focused on shoving a subscription service down your throat that you have to close that signup window after trying to do anything. And it makes you jump through hoops just to access being able to listen to a song version before you buy.
Capitalism is truly ruining everything.
I wish cds were better in op shops and the ones on eBay were less expensive. I wish I could read sheet music and wasnโt surrounded by people so I could just damn well sing it myself
Iโm the type to help keep the door open if someone is not too far behind me, walking the same direction. You know, politeness and all. Just witnessed someone at the gym look back, see me walking towards them, open the door the slightest amount possible (push open and it automatically shuts) and then it slammed right in my face. Thats humanity for you.
I've been on the other side of that situation. Usually the story is something along the lines of looking back to see someone is following, misjudging how long it will actually take to reach the door, struggling to decide whether to wait and then totally fumbling the door and walking off in shame because I completely messed up what should have been a straightforward interaction. Now that I'm older I'm less stressed about that sort of thing and would probably apologise for totally messing up the door holding thing, but when I was younger I would have been too overwhelmed by messing up the first interaction.
Of course that person could just have been a dick, in which case fuck them and I hope they stub their toe on an exercise bike.
The non stimulant is probably called Zyban. And yeah it's around 150 a month.
Sorry you've had such a hard time with it. Tbh I did as well for about a month. It's hard to put your life on hold for that long experimenting with dosage.

Oh yeah. He used have a hacking cough and would take some weird shit for it. He'd be 100% certain that the medicine helped to cure the cough after like 4 weeks.

I took a trip to Bunnings and now have picture hooks, a new hose connector for the tap, weed killer for the path and an edger for the grass. That used up all the gift certificates I had that needed to be used in store (thanks to Flybuys and Telstra), plus a few dollars off a pre-paid Mastercard I've been gifted. I've still got a couple of hundred left on the Mastercard to buy mulch & fertiliser etc. before I have to start using any of my own money. ๐
