Gibson is going for an operation tomorrow where sheโ€™ll be under anaesthetic and tbh Iโ€™m pretty worried.

Itโ€™s got to be done but yeah, fluffball is a real important part of my life and yeah. Itโ€™s stressful.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 353d

sending so many healing thoughts ๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜๐Ÿ˜˜

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 353d

I' sending positive vibes her way. Stay strong :)

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 353d

We're here for you โค๏ธ

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 352d

Miss Meow bounced back from her general anaesthetic extremely quickly. She was back to normal the next day, much more resilient than Mr Woof who needed drugs and a cone on his head for a week.

Eagle@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 352d

Its tough. And wait until she protests about the lack of breakfast! Sending you both furry good wishes for a seamless experience.

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 352d

Good on you for taking such good care of her!

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 352d

Hope it goes well. Poor kitty.

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 352d

Good luck hope she recovers well!

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 352d

Melbcat had a general anaesthetic for a tooth extraction at 14yo and pulled up okay. Tomorrow is never promised but I hope thatโ€™s some reassurance.

Good luck to Gibson.

Edit: If itโ€™s a tooth extraction I was told to give mine chunks of cooked meat afterwards instead of soft wet food that could get into the stitches.

If itโ€™s a late spaying or something that leaves a wound she can potentially reach, remember that a baby shirt or onesie is an option to protect the site instead of or in addition to the cone. Tricksy little hobbits.

anotherspringchicken@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d

Good luck Gibson!

Three weeks done in new hard job type. Now additional support is removed BUT I'm not longer having these tasks sent to me as a high priority, so now I'm getting way more normal things in combination with the hard things which is very nice. It was like 1 in 2 and now it's more like 1 in 10. Much more chill than first three weeks when it was just hard new thing all the time

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 352d

sounds like winning ๐Ÿฅฐ

SpinMeAround@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 353d (2 replies)

Got offered the job from the interview on Friday. Now just to decide if I actually want to take it. My replacement is starting for my current role on Thursday.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 353d

Do it!

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 353d

Congrats!!!!!

i have nowhere else to bitch to but listen to this bullshit that i have to go through in fucking perth for an ADHD diagnosis (transferred from NYC). i get the referral in june and submit it to the ADHD clinic of WA that shows availability from july. they tell me it takes upwards of 8 weeks to get the referral accepted. this took 10 weeks, they accepted. in order for me to book an appointment i need to pay a $200 deposit. i pay the $200 deposit, and the first appointment isn't until the middle of january.

i'm fucking FURIOUS AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d

Yeah that's absolutely fucked hey. Fuck that.

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d

Itโ€™s probably because there has been a flood of ADHD and Autism diagnosis requests in the last few years due to greater awareness. And it takes 10+ years to train a psychiatrist. So thereโ€™s a sudden massive demand but no extra specialists. I know that doesnโ€™t help the frustration but at least it might help explain the wait times.

StudChud@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 353d (4 replies)

Mickey is a little fiend for these dental treats, he absolutely loves them.

I guess I'll go to petbarn and grab a massive tub of them. They're the only treat he really begs for ๐Ÿ˜‚

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 353d (2 replies)

Can you take a pic? Would love to get Fluffball away from what she likes currently (temptations)

StudChud@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 353d (1 reply)

The brand is called Greenies, it's dental treats for cats (they also do dogs but that's irrelevant here lol!

They have chicken, tuna, and catnip flavours. Mickey is a little demon fiend for the catnip flavoured ones ๐Ÿ˜‚

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 353d

Awesome! Thanks heaps :)

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d

Good idea, sometimes buying in bulk is cheaper. And definitely hit up the specials.

Iโ€™ve found sometimes if you let an item sit in the cart you might get a coupon

Unpopular (?) opinion: the two greatest TV shows ever are Iron Chef and Grand Designs

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 352d (1 reply)

I used to watch a lot of Robot Wars. Betting and demolishing. Such fun.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d

Definitely good fun. I'm sorry but it's not on the same level as my selections however

Eagle@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 352d (1 reply)

I loved Iron Chef. But may I add the original Good News Week?

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 352d

You may

underwatermagpies@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 352d (1 reply)

Antiques Roadshow would like a word.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 352d

I honestly thought about adding it to the list. I used to rush home from school to watch it on ABC. I maintain that my two are better though

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d (2 replies)

I havenโ€™t seen either of these.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d (1 reply)

Same reply as to Seagoon: Omg youโ€™re missing out. Lots of iron chef full episodes are on YouTube if you wanna check it out

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 351d

Maybe when I get something installed. Newpipe might be good

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d (1 reply)

I haven't seen any of these shows other than Bender being Iron Chef.

on the west coast, for a bio class we dug up "sand crabs' and looked for strange parasites, they will filled with them.

Force_majeure123@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 352d

Ok that's really gross to think about ๐Ÿ˜… all these little crabs infested with parasites just below your feet all over the beach ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 352d

First time beer battered calamari rings tonight.

I'm sold on doing it that way now and not panko.

Double frying which was scary in case you end up w/ a gumboot, but it actually worked.

So far it's all smooth sailing with using my friend to help me with some business design stuff. It's much easier explaining what you need to someone who already gets the way you think. They also seem really excited to be working together again, we made a good work duo in our past job. So fingers crossed it stays all positive.

I stayed strong. Breakfast muffin was hot & very yummy. And the good new is I have another one for tomorrow's breakfast too.

I used to leave my handbag in my car in the garage. Now that my car is in the yard, I bring it inside. That momentary of panic "Where did I leave it?" because I'd been out and about this weekend.

Oh it's there hiding behind the coffee table. Mother fucker. I now have a designated spot.

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 353d (2 replies)

Designated spots for things like that is very important. Especially keys, I don't understand people that just throw them anywhere and then have to do a search every time they leave the house.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 353d (1 reply)

I've always hung my keys up in the same spot. I have taught YL the same after once having found her car keys in her handbag.

Everything in my house has a spot and if that item is not there I lose my shit.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 353d

same, it makes life easy ๐Ÿ‘

and if you look at house design cupboards are placed where things belong, like pantries, laundry, etc . It's not rocket science

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 352d

Today is national wattle day. Hopefully you encounter some of the fluffballs in your travels today and enjoy their joyfulness! Bring on Spring!

beach

I need that calming.

the rhythms of the maintenance work around the beach, the fishermen, the bait catchers, people out for walks, joggers, dogs

all the wild life, the tides and weather,

being in it so many days a week you get to know it and get into the rhythm too

it's nice

I love cats. Hoping to become the eccentric cat person I wanted to be as a kid.

I just wish I was rich so I could afford to adopt the old babies and have help as I got older

Radio show review

Around the World in 80 Days. BBC.

I just couldn't enjoy this on account of what an appalling person Fogg is as well as all the racism.

Tho I do like how female characters in Verne stories are assertive. That was probably to show how weird the women were.
