Depends on the context. I think it comes down to whether they're being rude to you for no reason or if there's a slight provocation.

I always give cars the finger if they get in the way on my bike at all. I want to drive home that anything they do wrong could have serious impacts for me no matter who was in the wrong.

I'm extremely hard to anger. I tend to empathise too much and if someone is being rude I'm pretty much just feeling sorry for them that they interact that way. I'd just try to de-escalate and politely stand my ground if they were trying to get something from me if it were unreasonable

I have what I call an "inner wog" that can be incredibly hostile under the right conditions. People being rude to me is one of them.

I rarely come across rude people but if I do I usually stare at them for a few seconds before I speak in an assertive tone.

I have said to people "Don't speak to me like that. I didn't speak to you rudely. You don't speak to me like that".

Match their rudeness, and exceed if needed. Generally brings them down to earth quickly.

It depends on whether matching the energy would come back to bite you

because people send you money they expect you to do things for them, you will get requests, plus they will send messages saying and doing nasty things

But I heard stuff like the platform can randomly refuse to pay you for whatever reason. There were news articles where people were complaining of not getting their money.

Also consider that a lot of payment processors have cracked down on sex work (or anything they consider adjacent). So you might risk getting your payment account banned or not getting your money that way.

I’ve also seen articles interviewing the people getting hired to chat with subscribers on the creators behalf, so the subscribers may expect a parasocial online relationship for their money and you might be expected to chat with them or arrange someone else to do that. Not sure if YL would be comfortable.

The money may not be as good for the average person as the high earners say.

There’s also considerations around privacy and not getting doxed.

This is just what I’ve seen from news articles and my own observations. If you’re serious I’d talk to someone that’s actually done it and ask what you really need to know.

I have a light cotton doona I use over summer. Over winter I have two fairly heavy wool doonas, I used to use both at the same time over the coldest parts of winter and just one other times of the year, but the new house is warmer overnight so I've only needed the one.

I have a winter one and summer one. Summer one is probably synthetic.

The winter one is too much even in winter. i think it's either wool or some poor bird's feathers.

I have a thin cotton doona stuffed with synthetics

In winter I use thick doona covers and sometimes a blanket on top, summer no doona cover and I just wash the doona every week or so.

I have a lightweight synthetic doona and add a blanket over that in winter
