IIRC it was a manga about a criminal henchman turned stay-at-home husband

ByteJunk@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 333d

It's ok, glaucoma is known to be very inquisitive.

If the socks are cool, socks with sandals are also cool. Fight me.

It could be a legit symptom. Missed buttons, clothes on backwards, mismatched shoes or socks, a dress with pants - all of that could indicate deeper issues where your brain is slipping gears. It's a real symptom, and I think those exact words appear in the DSM

Or this doctor was just a judgemental asshole who has no idea what self expression is. The entire profession is based around pretending to know what's going on, a lot of them are shockingly incompetent when you get past the jargon

jacket on backwards? yeah that's pretty fucking severe

tshirt on backwards? who gives a shit, they're basically symmetric

theneverfox@pawb.social · 2 pts · 323d

And a mismatched button might just be because you were in a rush. Hell, I wear mismatched socks all the time, but I am aware of this fact and I don't care

It's all contextual

In what way is how I dress relevant?

Your answer:

Psychotic symptoms

Could be that it was "bad" enough a doctor thought it could have something to do with the diagnosis.

I once had a psychiatrist write that I was wearing "gender neutral clothing" in the sentence after stating I was "currently undergoing gender re-assignment from male to female". I was wearing a pretty feminine sweater, skinny jeans and doc martens. It was hard not to see it as a dig at the fact I wasn't wearing a dress or skirt, which is something that's absolutely used to gatekeep trans women from transition related healthcare.

Ehhh maybe. Sounds to me like remnants of boomer culture of somehow the way another person dresses is a personal affront to them.

... What's wrong with a Superman outfit with frills sewn in?

I only ask because, uh, I definitely never wore that to an event and, uh, especially definitely never proudly drew someone's attention to it.

For sure that never happened.

This is like the moment when I got tested for autism. They asked "have you ever had a relationship?" and I was like "no I'm not attracted to anyone" and they just started writing furiously. Being LGBT+ definitely seems to score some points on the neurospicy test
