No sitting president before him has been a convicted felon.
No sitting president before him has been involved in the sheer volume of sexual scandals from assault to cheating to being implicated in possible pedophilia.
No sitting president before him has refused to return literally boxes and boxes of classified documents which he kept as trophies (or possibly as items for sale) while storing them in extremely inappropriate ways. (This is extremely different from Biden, btw, who promptly returned a few accidentally retained documents. Trump was playing shell games with them, repeatedly swearing he had returned them all while doing things like loading them on planes to move to other locations, etc.)
No sitting president before him has attempted to overthrow the government when they lost an election.
The level of bribery and corruption in his administration is off the charts.
The number of lies he tells has always been off the charts. ("I've never heard of Project 2025!" while having given a speech to its members and now following its plans to dismantle the federal government.)
His department heads have all been picked to dismantle the departments they're in. (Project 2025 again)
And then of course there is the christofascism angle, which is extremely disturbing because he definitely plans to never leave power again. He's currently trying hard to normalize use of military force against US citizens so he can seize control of the elections to make sure they go his way.
I don't know if they're still updating that: it's been at 48% for the last 2 or 3 weeks, & I think things are accelerating, in implimentation..
the whole "it is now law that court-injunctions are powerless against Trump & his appointees",
& "it is now law that Trump can de-register voters so that the actual-election is more the way he wants it to turn out" ( I have read that this was used to force 2024 to be his victory, by Republicans in various states ),
& "he can now simply remove-citizenship ( "de-naturalize" ) everybody who isn't a Republican, & this is the law, it is his right" all kinda point to fatal-civilization-cancer, in my eyes.
I just think it's funny and easy to dunk on the low hanging fruits that are hypocrites. So to answer you: no, I'm not bothered. You seem awfully bothered tho. So sensitive. Lol.
This was your opportunity to put your counter arguments in about how shady the rest of American politics is/was. However, you resorted to name calling and generalized BS. Why not engage in an actual discussion instead of folding?
Name calling? I agreed with you, I just was looking for a different discussion. Aside from constant trump bashing, which I myself take part, there is more than just one man. If I had the answer I was looking for I wouldn't have asked.
I have no idea why youre upset. It is one hundred percent apparent discussion on these boards is not very deep. I see it in many of the questions I ask. I hate to say it but the amount of thoughtful responses I see pale in comparison to, say, reddit.
Learn to read usernames, for starters. This is my first comment in this thread. Secondly, you called the person “so fucking sensitive” when they were actually just engaging with you. It’s up to you to then make your point, and instead you called him sensitive as a dig. That’s name calling. Also, I am genuinely not upset, but you sure sound worked up. It sounds like you want to start a fight and not a discussion.
Thats what the sensitive part is, and it doesnt matter if it was OP or the people who chose to pile on. Youre all being too sensitive. If your have a problem with tone, ask me to correct my tone, or clarify. Just dumping on me because I made a criticism is boring and completely typical of this platform.
I mean I don't have the amount of time necessary to go into how dirty past presidents have been and I certainly don't have the knowledge at my fingertips. But also, I think the stuff like Watergate and Monica Lewinski is barely a blip on the chart when you put Trump on it too. Which is not to say I condone the behavior of those presidents or seek to normalize their behavior. Just that from a numerical perspective it barely registers.
Honestly, Im not asking you specifically but you contributed the most thought provoking post of the thread and typically thats where thought ends on these boards.
Get your opponent to concede a point by burdening them with defining a strict threshold. Break their claim into smaller and smaller components and keep zooming in until you are looking at such tiny things that their original claims seem overblown.
This man has a beard! Does he? Yes clearly! 20mm hair on chin!
Would he have a beard I mean an actual beard if it was 5mm? No that's just stubble! Where does it become a beard, at 10mm? I guess!
So a man with 9mm hair has stubble? Yes! And he grows one measly millimeter of chin hair in on one of the hairs and BAM WHOA he has a beard now?
Edit: Not calling your question out as disingenuous, but trying to prevent it being abused.
I’d like to know this too. We all know the issues with the current regime. It’s clearly the worst in our lifetime.
But some of these issues may not have been apparent before the internet, before constant news. There may be different corruption, different rubber stamps and hiding of corruption, crime, and incompetence. We like to think previous presidents had some shame some ethics some standards, but did they really or was it just easier to hide
As far as I can tell the current administration has cemented their place in history, with the sheer maliciousness and negative impact on the country and even the world. A Term which will live in infamy. Standing far below every other administration
America were always (at least since Carter, 2nd world war ? Not American I probably forgot my president) colonialist in their exterior politics… now they’re facist about it.
If the Pope was in charge health care would be single-payer, abortion would be emergency-only, and both gay marriage and capital punishment would be illegal.
I wish I had the faith in human competency that conspiracy theorists demonstrate, but I think the truth is that humans are far stupider than that.

Like an order of magnitude worse?

There was a post on c/world, iirc, in the last few days, about Trump being heckled in the knesset, in israel..
that page had 3 links to other stories on the site, 1 of which was this:
https://www.lgbtqnation.com/2025/10/renowned-political-scientist-says-gop-officially-a-full-blown-after-senates-appalling-move/
( that should read "officially a full-blown cult", btw: the title-to-link generator on that site apparently censors some words?? )
That is 1 of the most spectacular acts of treason against responsible-authority ever accomplished, by electorate, in the US of A, ttbomk.

Ok, all true.
Just was hoping we could deep dive in american history but now I remember this site is still pretty shallow.

If this is your reaction to a thoughful response, you are not going to find deep discussions anywhere, even where they exist.
