The Hatch Act is a U.S. federal law enacted in 1939 that restricts the political activities of federal employees and some state and local government workers connected to federally funded programs. Its main purpose is to ensure that federal programs are administered in a nonpartisan manner and to protect employees from political coercion in the workplace.
They do, but theyre 7 votes shy of being able to pass this without it being filibustered by dems. And theyre refusing to give even an inch to get 7 democrats on board.
I love that people keep saying this and no one has disputed that judicial is one of the branches and they "shouldnt be aligned to a political party" because everyone knows they're political too
LOL I've been seeing those notices on various government sites, I'm glad more Americans are waking up to the fact that Trump is the problem (a symptom as well of what has been happening in America for years). Too bad, the cycle of knowing and most of them forgetting will happen all over again after we make this overgrown man baby fuck off.
Weather.gov has an apolitical message which links to commerce.gov/news/blog with the most recent blog post calling it a "democrat-led shutdown" (but at least that's in the body of the blog post rather than the headline and not a big popup containing a partisan message)
I often imagine the people who actually believe this and live in the manufactured reality bubble where fascism seems perfectly fine. It would require a substantial amount of personal strength to break free from it and accept the actual reality.
Talking with this lot it feel Like its like an iron will to keep head in sand and refuse to listen to anything I say, videos of politicians, or late night TV.

That's the one. I learned about it in basic training. It's why troops aren't supposed to wear their uniforms to political events.

That has zero teeth for any administration. The worst punishment is firing. Not sure how you fire the POTUS with shitty people in Congress

Funny, I thought Trump's party had control of all three branches. I didn't think their opposition had control of any of it.

I would bet by three branches he means white house, senate, house of reps. The three involved in passing legislation.
Sc00ter@lemmy.zip · 4 pts · 331d
But those objectively arent the 3 branches of the us government...
Executive (president), judicial (supreme court), and legislative (house/senate) are the 3 branches
teft@piefed.social · 4 pts · 331d
Yes, but i understand context.

I would argue the opposite. People, sorry animals, are buying this crap that they put out. They generally believe this garbage.

Nah. The side who is in power has always taken the flak for a shutdown.
