Looks good that this feature finally found its way into the main UI, not just a startup parameter.

I don't know how old the feature is, but you just go to about:profiles. You can create and switch profiles.

I remember switching profiles in Firefox 2, if my memory serves well

There was a profile manager, but that was how you opened Firefox, if you wanted more than one profile. Like on a family computer. These days computers are more "PCs"... Personal Computers... But you use it for more than one thing. This is a profile manager, build into the browser. It's quite neat.

There was an extension for years.
I love that firefox finally includes it. They also managed to improve the mobile ui a little bit. Sounds like mozilla CEO deserves the USD 7 million this year

As far as I know you'll still be able to use the old one. Presumably it won't see much love, but I don't think it hasn't seen much love for years anyway.
That said, you probably won't see those old profiles in the new profile manager, but if you're happy with your current setup that doesn't sound like much of a problem.

hopefully it's good, don't want to mix work and personal stuff

No idea what it is but it's a bad sign that I'm already scared.

Firefox profiles are separate Firefox "accounts" with things like bookmarks, browsing history, etc. They're entirely local, and they're useful for keeping stuff separate.
This change is a redesign of how you interact with it, making it much easier. You probably weren't aware about it because it's hard to access, hence the reason for the redesign.

oh thank god, been waiting for this
