Is there some context I am missing as to what this building is?

SectoidLexi@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 82 pts · 327d (10 replies)

This was once the building to a popular BDSM porn studio called Kink Factory

It was formerly a military barracks I think, before that.

and before that it saved Spring Break

Oh I see. I remember watching a video about it a while back now.

I got to do the tour with my girlfriend, whom I married. Amazing decor. We went to dinner with Stefanos once a decade ago too, he seemed pretty normal tbh

Imagine that, when people get to fulfil their desires and expressions and have their shit together, they act in a well adjusted manner.

Yeah but you know, well adjusted for California twelve years ago. He did a five minute comedic spiel about gender, then talked about how a KMFDM track is his personal theme song. Good guy overall, but not the porn industry David Xanatos you might imagine lmao

As a fan of the Upper Floor, he never seemed like a bad dude. I remember one bit in particular where Penny Barber mentioned she liked his french cuffs, and he wore a set again next time she was on. He didn't have to do that, but she appreciated it.

Super jelly that you got the full tour and dinner.

Porn industry in general seems to have shifted over the years. Ron Jeremy-type sleazebags are still around, but they're getting pushed out. You can actually find studios that are trying to be ethical. Kink dot com hasn't been perfect, mind you.

Oh. Well, it's funny even without the context. I'm sure they also found something of mass something in there.

I have never seen this building/image.

frezik@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 25 pts · 326d (2 replies)

It used to be run by kink dot com, and was also a center of the San Francisco kink scene in general.

Shh, don't tell 'em! Tell them it's highly up to date, and that there's aliens and oil in there...

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 326d
