I mean, it does. The problem is that they want the right to be nazis and murderres and rapsts. They want the right to be c@nts

MURDERERS, RAPISTS, AND CUNTS.

I was trying to avoid the correct spelling to not irritated some people

Which people, advertisers? If someone is legitimately triggered by those words, it seems unlikely that misspelling them is going to make a difference to them.

I don’t know how you anglophones tread socially. I’m trying my best.

rumschlumpel@feddit.org · 6 pts · 297d (1 reply)

I'm not a native English speaker or living in an English-speaking country, lol. You really shouldn't assume that on Lemmy.

CommissarKrieg@leminal.space · 2 pts · 297d

I understand. It’s just that this is really my first time communicating in English.

It's still a heavily gendered insult in the US, possibly Canada too, but censoring doesn't change that either way. Australia and other English speaking countries 'cunt' is a lot less problematic and the Internet is international so... just fucking swear on the fediverse, nobody is stopping you as long as you're not on an instance with a word filter, lol.

Okay, thanks you for clarifying

It's like when certain kinds of old people complain that there's "no respect anymore". What they actually demand is being treated as people of authority (by merit of being old) while not showing basic respect to other people.

_g_be@lemmy.world · 9 pts · 297d

If you won't respect me (as an authority or superior) then I won't respect you (as a human being)

You can say cunts.

Cants

The problem is that equal rights take away privileges from the privileged. And if you are very used to your privileges, they feel like rights. Or to say it with this quote (which is appearently hard to find the exact author for)

When you are accustomed to privilege, equality can feel like oppression.

I had a civics teacher that used to say, "You want everyone around you to have rights just like you because when they take away your neighbor's rights they've taken away your neighborhood."

I don't think I fully understood that until the ICE thugs started masking up and the world got lonelier.

halvar@lemy.lol · 8 pts · 297d

you want me to give up my right to harass people who I view as less???

lillo@lemmy.sdf.org · 5 pts · 297d

no fewer rights, but fewer privileges 🤭
