I’m starting to make an effort to go analogue. Lucky I kept my recipe books. I’m even tempted to go print some of my insta craft boards and stick em in a big journal. Stock up on books and dvds and lose myself for hours.
The more they enshitify the more backwards I go. They got my usage based on convenience. I am getting better at assessing what is genuinely convenient and healthy for my lifestyle.
Protip for recipes in particular - add a date constraint on your duckduckgo/Google search. I've found that searching for anything before 2022 seems relatively AI free (unless the author has edited recently).
And most recipes don't really evolve over the past three years, so there's quite a bit to discover. If you find a good one, absolutely grab that shit offline/archive.is it so that it won't disappear.

But my writing (on my personal website) or my serious art works or my persona open source code projects? Yeah, I have lost all enthusiasm to share them online. If people want to see my work, I'll send it to them directly.
I think the era of free and open sharing on the Internet is dead, which does sadden me. I think we're ultimately moving to a new dark age, the Dark Net Age, where all communication and sharing will go into various private chats and sites, where people can be vetted and held accountable.
Well people that care, which will end up being like the early internet: smart kids, embattled minorities, and crotchety, paranoid old folks. All the people too busy or ignorant to care are already deep into the algorithmic treadmills of X and TikTok and I don't think they're ever coming out.
The Samsung One UI 8 update page title and first paragraph (that's all i read) is completely about AI.
I refuse to update and have disabled Android updates on my phone. I will be returning to linageOS or migrating to a Linux phone as soon as practically possible.
I saw the sane but accepted it, can't find how to revert. Unfortunately it has broken quite a but of the civer screen functionality of my flip, and lineage is not an option as far as I know for foldables
I don't get Copilot on O365 at all. My wife asked me what it was all about and I thought it would do what I get Claude to do with coding; ask it shit and get something done for me that's sorta close but I have to finish the job. Hell no. It's some fucking mess that will basically format a document for you extremely badly. It can't make smart Outlook rules which was basically what she wanted and I thought would be a no-brainer.
It's utterly pointless. And she's being pushed to use this trash by IT in her office but none of them seem to be able to find a use case that it can actually be used in.
I like how the article is trying to say the opposite, yet they mention every AI product in it.
They want to it everywhere, it will go everywhere and we have to accept it, as long as we don't do anything to stop it. We have the strength, and we can use it for the right way.
I'm against it because they use this tool very wrong, and it has negative impact in society, which they don't understand. They think money and users building something that is unfinished.
For all these former-AI-booster takes and realizations about the nightmare they've ushered in, I've yet to see anyone really comprehend why this is happening and why it won't stop. It isnt just "shareholders like AI."
This is the final bet. If one of these companies figures it out, they genuinely believe it'll be the end of workers, the end of labor cost, and the dawn of an era of unlimited profit. They believe that. I mean what's far more likely is that it rapidly gets hooked into the MIC and we get actual Skynet kicking off the Apocalypse. Or maybe just the complete annihilation of the economy as we all get a global experiment in what it looks like when "consumers" don't exist anymore and everything is 100% supply side. But not one of these "rational actors" can bear the thought that they'd miss out on a bet with an infinite possible payout, therefore any amount must he wagered.
