I am taking a class to learn a second language. The things I am having trouble with are the things I have trouble with in my native language (English) as well. Such as:
speaking in front of others
thinking of things to say
taking too long to say something because I need to prepare the wording in my head to make sure I am precise and will not be misunderstood (and get misunderstood anyway)
not rambling once I do start saying something
understanding what other people are saying when there is a lot of background noise
making eye contact
Thankfully as soon as the lesson is over I can go directly home and be alone for several hours.
Learning more languages is always great, so definitely keep it up. But yeah those aren’t things that learning a new language can help you with. I also struggle with basically all of these, but don’t let that deter you!
Holy shit guys, my job handed me a card to sign today for a coworker that's been out unexpectedly for a few days. They told me that their husband had a heart attack and to please sign.
I instantly internally panic, because wtf do you write in a card like that and why are you asking me who doesn't really know this coworker? I'm pretty sure that's some kind of HIPAA violation too? Or at least wildly disrespectful to go around and tell the whole business your husband almost died (or did, I didn't ask)
So I googled what to write because I didn't feel like navigating through that minefield on my own of saying something that people would probably take the wrong way.
About to head into work where I am almost certain my social battery will run out in the first two hours. Looking forward to quittin' time so I can head home and play more Yakuza with my partner.

May I ask what language you’re learning?
