I’m ambivalent about the warmth of food. I don’t really care if it’s warm or cold for the majority of things and as such usually eat things cold right out of the fridge if they’re leftovers. Cold chicken, cold noodles, cold soup. Doesn’t bother me, but it does bother my family that I couldn’t care less.
I cook a decent amount of the time though and absolutely love roasted chicken and veggies, which mostly gets eaten fresh out of the oven. In event of leftovers, yup, cold limp carrots and slightly stodgy roast potato chunks( though I will put some sauce on that last one)
There’s certain things that I will never eat cold, like nachos. Eating cold shredded cheese is a deal breaker in my house
This is what I feel is the biggest issue, the deception.
The fact that there’s a blacklist is almost inconsequential to the fact that it’s not explicitly stated, that it’s default applied AND the error message when you run into it implies it’s not from a blacklist.
Lies by omission are still lies no matter how much Patrick is crying about it always being there. If you’re not upfront about it, for something as incendiary as a shadowban list, especially for a community like lemmy, you’re a piece of shit and deserve to be ostracized.
If he had made it all transparent, we’d still make fun of him but at least he would be honest about it and give people the choice to decide for themselves.
Honestly I’m not considering leaving at all while this administration is in power. We’ve already heard too many stories of arbitrary detentions even for lawful citizens or visitors that I simply don’t want to roll the dice on whether my vacation ends with a nightmare or just another flight in as normal
I saw a similar sign out on a trail a few years back, near a fishing hole just below some rocky rapids/falls. If I had to guess the missing kid probably was at the slippery rocky ledge overlooking the top of the rapids, lost his footing and fell into the churn, and lights out.
The sign had a change of clothes, bottled water and some granola bars in a ziplock bag. You could tell the sign and supplies had been there for a while.
I think about that sign whenever I get the urge to try something risky out in the wilderness
I can’t imagine an ancient yeast would taste much different than sourdough made from modern wheat, especially if you use the same grain the iceman had available back in his time like einkorn. You’d still end up with tangy sourdough

In my experience the pasta breaks apart more the older it gets during the cooking process. The end result of a particularly old box of rotini looks more like the fragments at the bottom of a bag of tortilla chips that are too small to dip with.
My personal cutoff is about 1.5-2 years after expiration
