There is the Swedish 1971 movie Sagan om Ringen and if we include the Hobbit, then there's the 1967 version which is quite funny to watch.

The soviet movies Khobbita (1985) and Khraniteli (1991) came later, as did the the Finnish Hobbitit (1993) .
