First one to write, too, apparently.

Am I to believe that that pig took pen in hand and wrote that sign?

Alternative perspective: Imagine being lifted up, being able to see the stars for the first time. The absolute wonderment of it all. Only to be put back down, never to be able to see them again. Almost seems cruel

zalgotext@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 289d (1 reply)

Alternative alternative perspective: imagine being lifted up, against your will, and manipulated until you can see nothing but a vast blackness dotted with occasional white pinpricks and glimmers. You're put back down, but now you have the craziest story to tell Gary at the feeding trough in the morning.

idunnololz@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 289d (2 replies)

can you just build them a ramp?

EddoWagt@feddit.nl · 17 pts · 289d (1 reply)

They can also just... Look up

idunnololz@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 289d

Wow, I was lied to by a meme. /s

I actually googled this a while back and IIRC they can also roll around or just tilt their body as well.

RedAggroBest@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 289d

Flowers for Algernon in a nutshell. (If you or anyone reading this hasn't read it, give it shot, it'll make you feel)

MBech@feddit.dk · 3 pts · 289d

They can roll onto their backs though. Nothing stopping them from looking at the universe.

This was by far and large the best throwaway gag that I'm sure many people missed in "Children of Men". There's a shot near the beginning in the dystopian city and there's a pig shaped balloon floating in the sky. I'm not sure how many people caught it when the saw the movie.

lemmyartistforhire@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 289d (3 replies)

You are probably thinking of the Pink Floyd reference at 17:40 in the movie.

Yes, the reference is at exactly 17:40 in the movie.
