Without income id be fucked but at the same time kind of like you I have the equity locked away. I could as of now move back to a small town mortgage free. I choose not to because I need to milk the system as much as I can before I parachute back to nowhere.

I feel this. I love modestly but my parents had it worse so we didn't do much either. What gets me is the amount of people who are reaping the benefits of generational wealth which I think is the only reason my peers are affording the lives they have.

It's part of why I associate most with immigrants. They understand the struggle more than people who look like me.

I have an Indian coworker who lives with her husband and child in a 1 bedroom apartment and she's the single breadwinner and struggles hard. I admire her more than anyone else in my office.

Meh. Close but annoyed more than anything but I fully admit I am an outlier making > $200k CAD a year.

I feel for everyone who is struggling and I'm sure to always tell my kids they have more in common with the homeless man in the park than they do with Elon Musk.

Reminds me of some stupid company maybe a few months ago that had their PRs failing due to copilot being down the dumbasses didn't build an "if no AI" failsafe into their workflow. And no one knew how to recover it

Lol I'm Canadian I'm talking about my friends with the real world experience growing up in the bloc.

And to throw is back how old are you? What is your experience? Pray tell what makes you an expert?

I won't disagree but you're (intentionally?) shifting goalposts.

As already stated and the easiest example is I've been told by multiple friends about waiting in the bread line for their parents for hours. As a North American imagine having to wait for the state to give you your bread for the day and having to wait 6 hours in line to get it. Is this really what people want to glaze?

This is also ignoring the rampant corruption that also existed in the USSR at the time too. You could argue it was more corrupt than we have in North America now.

I have many friends that were children of the block like you. Talk to them and they all share your same opinion. It is fucked up today the western youth is now glazing on the old USSR days when you talk to everyone who experienced them and they were garbage.

Personally speaking I don't want to have to wait in a bread line every morning.
