Stained glass can absolutely hold back the water in a fish tank. Depending on the size of your tank, of course.

Also, you could just put the stained glass as a layer on the outside of the standard glass of a tank. Unless God can be rendered ineffective by clear glass or something.

It's like an open nuclear reactor, just be careful to not stick you face over the tank into the path of the sin radiation.
