Been doing the Alton Brown recipe for years and gotten better each time. I don't even like turkey but I like cooking for people!

I just found out Alton Brown has a new YouTube channel. His first video is an update to his turkey recipe from all those years ago:

Thawing in brine with one of those igloo coolers is going to improve my life so much next year.
I also really like the gravy prep and cooking on a wire rack above the gravy ingredients.
The spinning platform with those fans is such a cool idea also.
Thank you for sharing he had an update

I have cooked with a brine for years. My mom had it this year for the first time ever. She loved it and didn't even need to season the gravy more. It was amazing. Loved working together on it.

I’ve gotten better every year. I always tell the family while I’m cooking, Alton Brown said to do it this way. I’m not much of a cook but it feels really nice how much they love the turkey I’m able to make so much that it’s become my task every year.
Edit: I was brining the turkey but not starting while frozen. I’m really excited to try this new method.

Thanks! My 5th year doing it and I'm super proud of this, even if I won't eat it.

Looks great. My best was for Canadian Thanksgiving this year, which was about a month ago. Looks like we both had a productive Thanksgiving dinner this year, for our respective Thanksgivings.
