I can't decide whether to make a nazi or snake joke, so I'm not going to make one at all.

Most people can't hear dog whistles.

Agent641@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 257d

I didn't even know dogs could whistle

BCsven@lemmy.ca · 26 pts · 258d (9 replies)

That can't be real?

adarza@lemmy.ca · 14 pts · 258d (8 replies)

it probably is. he can't rename the department of defense without congressional action, but apparently the moron-in-chief can make up 'secondary' names and titles:

::: spoiler Tap for spoiler It's not just "SECRETARY OF WAR". It's "SSECRERARY" :::

toynbee@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 257d (5 replies)

True, but also fitting typo.

The picture shows "SSECRETARY." The quote shows "SSECRERARY." Maybe I'm missing a joke, but it looks like a typo to me?

Tier1BuildABear@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 257d (2 replies)

The "joke" is that no one really knows if it's an accidental typo or if the current regime just really wanted an SS in there. After all, this is the same regime that let a nepo baby do the Nazi salute at the inauguration, and let someone have a swastika-American flag mix at their desk then tried to excuse it.

toynbee@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 257d

Right ... I wasn't referring to the first two letters. Or, indeed, the image.

edit: To be perfectly clear, I did miss the implication of the "SS," but I wasn't talking about that. The commenter to whom I was responding misspelled "Secretary." Not with the double S - not disregarding the importance of that, I just wasn't talking about that. Rather that the double S, I was commenting on the fact that a T was (I think) mistyped as an R.

However, I do appreciate you drawing my attention to the relevance of the part that wasn't a typo.

BCsven@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 257d

I meant the typo that nobody caught

pdxfed@lemmy.world · 11 pts · 258d

But they used "war" to own the libs so this is cool

Zier@fedia.io · 10 pts · 257d

That must be the instructions whiskey pete gave the person. Ans since he was drunk when he told the person, the wrote it down verbatim, drunk slurring and all.

This is actually what they want and one of the few things that makes sense. They did it in part, because they think defense sounds weaker than war, but also the US is often involved in wars. So defense really didn't fit well.

Gnugit@aussie.zone · 15 pts · 257d (1 reply)

You may have missed something

lurch@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 257d

Oh, the double S 😅

king_comrade@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 257d

Look a little deeper

Darkness343@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 257d (2 replies)

I mean, the best defense is offense, so maybe they are onto something

lurch@sh.itjust.works · 1 pts · 257d (1 reply)

I don't want to confirm nor deny thay, but diplomats of most nations chose "defense" to appear less hostile and get better deals and partnerships going. They are on to something as well 🙂

Darkness343@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 257d

Just take their lands and their resources.

Modern diplomats should play 4x games as a requirement
