It was cold. This stray kitty chose me and napped for half an hour.

Disclaimer: The scar has nothing to do with this gentle kitty.

That's not a stray cat. That's your cat now. You've been chosen. Conrats.

Thanks! Cat distribution system is working.

I wish but sadly no. This happened far from my home.

That poor cat is gonna have to hitchhike so far just to get to your front door now!

muhyb@programming.dev · 2 pts · 250d

Heh, made me smile. Thank you. :3

I kinda wish I had been chosen by a stray, instead I went to a shelter and let one of the cats there choose me so I guess it's close enough.

Manjushri@piefed.social · 12 pts · 252d

I've done that. I've gone to rescues and adopted a cat. I've gone to animal controls. I've foster failed. There's no bad way to get chosen by a cat. But yeah, getting chosen by a stray on the street has got to be a really special feeling.

muhyb@programming.dev · 5 pts · 252d

That's also fine! It's a smaller pool but still a cat chooses you.

Noodle07@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 250d (1 reply)

My last cat I entered the room at the shelter and she instantly jumped on me and climbed me, the cat distribution system knows, I miss her so much

kieron115@startrek.website · 3 pts · 250d

Haha. The precious girl I ended up with bamboozled me a bit. I picked her up at the shelter and she clinged to me and started purring, then when I got her home I found out she can't stand being held. She's a smart one though, I love her.

This has to be Istanbul. It's a stray in the best possible city in the world to be a stray cat in.

Empricorn@feddit.nl · 32 pts · 252d

How did you not take him home!? You were fated to meet him, he chose you! Go back!!!

fulcrummed@lemmy.world · 26 pts · 252d

His name is Johan. You are his human now. You may call him Joey or “yoyo” or many other familiar terms of endearment (assuming you are familiar with the European soft ‘j’ sound. 🪀)

You must feed him nutritious and delicious meals, give him affection and love and reverence, and do his every bidding. This is the will of our (sectarian cat over-)lord. I wish you a happpy and harmonious life together. I now pronounce you Johan, and “Johan-adjacent, subservient sycophantic lackey”. You may now scoop his litter.

Just saying, we have a cat living in our own house who is not that friendly...

Ours, you go to pet her and she's like:

You have to learn cat language.

jordanlund@lemmy.world · 1 pts · 251d

Oh, we know, and we've tried. Since we've been married, this little one is our 9th cat, and I've never seen or had one so resistant to being touched.

Uri@infosec.pub · 12 pts · 252d

Take her to your home

muhyb@programming.dev · 14 pts · 252d

Not this time but close enough, still in Turkey.

Apeman42@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 252d (4 replies)

Well, it's not Constantinople.

I too scare 2 touch strangers even when they’re at cutest

Any paranoid people in this community, no just me OK nvm

treesquid@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 251d

I try to touch every cat even when I know they're not nice. Occasionally getting scratched or bitten, which only happens extremely rarely, is completely worth all the extra cat cuddles I get to have. Kitties are life.

Since it likes you so much, you can adopt it.
