Looks like one of those disposable flossers.

locahosr443@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 266d (1 reply)

You talking about ninja?

rmuk@feddit.uk · 5 pts · 266d

Don't be daft, it looks nothing like an air fryer.

Are you even allowed to post this?

ObviouslyNotBanana@piefed.world · 22 pts · 267d

Everyone is always allowed to post this. It's the one post that proves the rule, no matter what that rule is.

I’m gonna walk from London to Paris to Poland in a single day

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 9 pts · 267d (7 replies)

Good luck, because that is NOT a land bridge. You’re gonna have to walk the long way around (still possible in one day though if you don’t need more than six hours of sleep).

fox2263@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 266d

Pfft. Just jump over it.

ulterno@programming.dev · -1 pts · 266d (5 replies)

Usually, I assume darker blue to be deeper waters.

MacNCheezus@lemmy.today · 2 pts · 266d (4 replies)

If you look at it on the satellite view, it actually does look fairly shallow, but not shallow enough to be able to walk across.

ulterno@programming.dev · 2 pts · 266d (3 replies)

Unless you are someone exceptionally good at walking with long leg-sticks (I don't know the appropriate name for that) and have someone to make an over-engineered leg-stick for this purpose.

EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world · 5 pts · 266d (2 replies)

Stilts. The word for that is stilts.

ulterno@programming.dev · 4 pts · 266d (1 reply)

That's it!
Been so many years since I last read/heard that word that all I could recall was "stillets", which is not a word and looking it up only got me to "stilettos".

EmpathicVagrant@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 263d

I know the feeling. I had a moment the other day I couldn’t remember the word I wanted properly and I ended up shouting it a minute after we moved on

atomicorange@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 267d

I’m gonna swim in Banana!

In Ontario we have the poor man's eurotrip

fox2263@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 265d

Shaped like a European nation too

toynbee@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 265d

That might even be, like, 500 miles.

A_Chilean_Cyborg@feddit.cl · 9 pts · 267d (2 replies)

In chile there is a Saying... of sorts "Talca, París y Londres", Talca being a random local city most people actually linda hate because having bad drivers and ruining a beloved local dish.

Siegfried@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 266d (1 reply)

Igual su peor crimen son los completos mojados (hotdogs-chilean style but with wet bread for some deranged reason..)

Lumidaub@feddit.org · 9 pts · 267d (5 replies)

Fun fact: that's pronounced "kiribass".

fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk · 3 pts · 267d (3 replies)

Are you pronouncing the "bass" bit like the fish "sea bass" or the instrument "bass guitar"? (e.g. ass or ace)

MonkRome@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 267d

Iirc somewhat like the fish

CannedYeet@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 267d (1 reply)

Wikipedia has an audio clip

fakeman_pretendname@feddit.uk · 4 pts · 267d

Got you.

Kirrab ass.

Tylerdurdon@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 265d

Yes, I did a dive on this rabbit hole and it was interesting. The topographical maps (Google) are neat too. Wish you could drop in but it looks like they haven't sent someone to map it like that.

Big if true

Evil_Shrubbery@thelemmy.club · 13 pts · 267d

Smol if not true.

In 2015, London was inhabited by 1,895 people, making it the second most populous of the four villages on the island.

Damn, some years for a few hours the temperature might fall under 20°C.

ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org · 6 pts · 267d

Yup, real, except Kiribati is many more islands. Specifically, this is the island Kiritimati.
