What upcoming trials? People talk as though that's an inevitability. Is some magical fairy going to come after a certain amount of time? Is there a mystical clock that will run out on the regime and then those involved will be punished? The only way it will happen will be violent revolution or war.

So his rights were violated by being investigated for stuff he actually did?

Like it's personally coming out of his pocket instead of tax payer money diverted from the last dregs of government services.
