It's exactly the kind of fawning I expect from a narcissist. He has to be close to anyone he feels is a "winner" because it inflates his own ego to do so.
He doesn't even know who the radical left are. When he talks about the radical left he's talking about Hillary Clinton. It's quite amazing to see so many Republican politicians have no clue where a lot of the country stands on the political spectrum. All they see are their opponents and that's all they want to see.
