On The Line, a host loves using the analogy that 1% of the population is remarkably close the entire Russian population. So it’s like saying we have men, women and russians, but those don’t count, because they are an anomaly.

Wait, let them cook

I took a Russian history course in high school. They are an anomaly. If I had a nickel for everytime a random person showed up and took over by pretending to be some royal that had previously disappeared, I'd have a handful of nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it was so common in one particular country.

Astronomers and chemistry.... (sigh). Helium is asexual by the way. It doesn't bond with anyone else. And hydrogen is 99% homo, unless... let's just not talk about that.

TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 31 pts · 245d

hydrogen gex 😳

Wrufieotnak@feddit.org · 9 pts · 245d (1 reply)

Helium is asexual except for Fluorine, because that is one hella hot element.

b_tr3e@feddit.org · 12 pts · 245d

Doesn't count. Flourine is the serial rapist in the periodical system.

Astronomers have it simpler, only two genders non metallic, like hydrogen and helium, and metallic... basically everything beyond helium.

Diplomjodler3@lemmy.world · 38 pts · 245d (9 replies)

There are 118 genders!

ada@piefed.blahaj.zone · 68 pts · 245d (5 replies)

Some of which can only be made in a lab, by energetically ramming one gender in to another, over and over again

😳

And since they have short half lives their parents are like “it’s just a phase”

SkaveRat@discuss.tchncs.de · 15 pts · 245d

They are studying them in the Large Hardon Collider

Some are incredibly unstable

But those have the best sex.

Technically, it's all pretransition iron.

TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 13 pts · 245d

Trans for everyone 😔

AnnaFrankfurter@lemmy.ml · 10 pts · 245d (1 reply)

Yeah hydrogen, helium, and metals

IAmNorRealTakeYourMeds@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 243d

Found the astronomer.
