like jazz bars with 30 minutes of unskippable advertising

I skip it by showing up 20 minutes later than my show time. I still catch 1-3 trailers. I haven't missed any actual movie yet.

In theory I still like the experience of being in a theater. In practice, especially in the winter months, I’m not such a fan of being in such close proximity to a bunch of strangers in a public space. There are too many people willing to still go out when they’re sick.

Too much slop to sift through and the prices are now unaffordable. Movies are dead to me. I'll just watch the ones I already know are good.

Good movies are still being made but I have to basically be forced to sit down to watch then and figure that out afterwards. Otherwise I'm just putting Star Wars or LOTR on again

Went to the theater for the first time in a while with family to see Zootopia 2. We were all excited, who doesn’t like the movies?

45 minutes to get through concessions, came to $94 for four people. Everything tasted worse than I ever remember it. Soda machine was straight up broken.

I don’t think our appetite is the biggest problem here.

My local cinema has that feel as it’s repertory and everyone is there to enjoy the film and maybe have a cocktail. The big multiplex chains are pretty unbearable now on how many ads there are and nonstop fuckery from other patrons during the showing.

*as an analogy, I like to think of adult women *

Or maybe Hollywood might need to admit you don't need a $300m budget with all the cocaine the 38 producers can snort and $150m of the budget for stars.
