You're looking at a meal almost entirely made of empty carbs and a tablespoon of butter on top is what concerns you?

marcos@lemmy.world · 14 pts · 237d (2 replies)

There is an egg and a glass of milk there.

You can probably drop all the rest anyway, they are not adding much. Or just keep a few pancakes.

What purpose does the second spoon serve?

ICastFist@programming.dev · 3 pts · 236d

Emotional support for the first spoon

Checkout the jug of what I assume is maple syrup.

Hawke@lemmy.world · 10 pts · 237d (4 replies)

Nah, probably corn syrup.

deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz · 17 pts · 237d (3 replies)

high fructose corn syrup.

Buddahriffic@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 237d (2 replies)

You're probably right, though there's a nonzero chance that it's coffee because that was the closest thing to a clean mug available.

deadbeef79000@lemmy.nz · 2 pts · 237d

If it was coffee it'd have non-dairy creamer (because it tastes better when it's a different color ;-)

I didn't even notice it had a pour spout until seeing this conversation!

For the amount of pancakes, I'd say that's not really a lot of butter.

YiddishMcSquidish@lemmy.today · 6 pts · 237d

I was thinking the same, except it should be cut up the place in-between the individual pancakes.

kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 237d

I follow Paula Dean's advice when it comes to butter. And only that one subject.

Washedupcynic@lemmy.ca · 24 pts · 237d (2 replies)

I'm mad that there aren't googly eyes on the silverware.

antsu@discuss.tchncs.de · 3 pts · 237d

+1. If you think about it, it's kinda creepy. You have all the friendly little googly things looking at you, and then 3 tall faceless entities standing next to them.

TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 2 pts · 237d

Indeed. My autism triggered hard on this. After all the googly eyes on the... sugar ring thingies? in the bowl, how can you forget the silverware.

Diddlydee@feddit.uk · 19 pts · 237d (9 replies)

Is that a lot of butter? I don't eat pancakes like this. Seems like as much as I might put on them if I was doing butter and strawberry jam on each one.

Also, do you just tackle those with a fork and no knife?

frustrated_phagocytosis@fedia.io · 27 pts · 237d (3 replies)

It's not. That's an appropriate amount of butter for a whole stack of pancakes. I'd actually add more, and I'm lactose intolerant.

future me while shitting violently FUCK PAST ME

Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca · 2 pts · 237d

That’s an appropriate amount for one pancake.

Gullible@sh.itjust.works · 11 pts · 237d (1 reply)

It seems completely proportional to a tall stack of pancake

Edit: maybe a bit light, actually. That’s like 7 pancakes tall

Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 237d

I think it's more like 4-5 pancakes. Pancakes spread on each bottom as you cook/flip them, so there's a narrower "waist" that can make one seem like two in a stack. It's still a reasonable amount of butter, and I'd use more because I'm not fond of syrup.

db2@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 237d

It's a lot for one piece, not enough for the whole stack.

Buddahriffic@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 237d (1 reply)

Pancakes are soft enough to cut with a fork.

GreenKnight23@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 237d

only plebeians eat without a knife.

BaroqueInMind@piefed.social · 6 pts · 237d

Fork and spoons are missing eyes, and so is the bowl and plate. Unnaceptavle, OP, delete this shit. /s
