Meet my new bestie kitty:

She's on the way to the beach and she's really friendly:

Good solid kitty.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d

Can't wait to hear stories and see pictures. ๐Ÿ˜Š

Gibsonhasafluffybutt@aussie.zone · 11 pts · 207d (4 replies)

Imagine its 4am

You wake up to the wardrobe door slooooowly opening.

You just woke up from a dream so you're fucking panicking because what the fuck is going on.

Then the cat walks out of the wardrobe

imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 207d (1 reply)

So Gibson is the new queen of Narnia? Cool.

Catfish@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 207d

Does she bring Turkish Delight?

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 207d

Due to budget cuts your cat is also your sleep paralysis demon

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d

Once a queen of Narnia always a queen of Narnia.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 10 pts · 207d

Ted Report.

Ted has lost 1.25 kg in the past year, which is excellent. Vet was very happy.

But he was so stressed he couldn't get vaccinated. So he has some sedative to take and will get vaccinated next week.

poor little guy

and Miss Seagoon found out his full name is Theodore, he's not just Ted.

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 207d (6 replies)

Good morning. I'm pleased to wake and find the effects of the muscle relaxants have finally worn off. What a shit 24hrs. Headache, grogginess and nausea. e: Orphenadrine / Norflex was the drug, horrible for me.

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 207d (5 replies)

Those things are either make you feel like floating on air, or like the worst hangover.

Glad you're on the mend.

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d (4 replies)

My head's on the mend, I'm still struggling with random muscle cramping whenever I get chilly which is still super shit.

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 207d (3 replies)

Dang, is it physical or neurological?

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d (2 replies)

I've got low iron and low magnesium so I'm hoping it's just something that I can supplement away. Amusingly, my blood appears to be not ๐Ÿค˜metal๐Ÿค˜ enough. I'm also feeling the cold much more than I normally do but I've also lost a bunch of weight so that could just be missing the insulation. Irritatingly it's not in muscles I can easily reach to dry-needle.

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 1 pts · 207d (1 reply)

So you're getting healthier and suffering? That kind of tracks to be honest. When I lost weight years ago, definitely felt it in the winter.

Like proper felt it.

I bought one of those spiky cushions to lie on, and that's helped with circulation to my back heaps. Sucks for the first minute and when getting up, but does wonder.

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 207d

Like I said chatting to Gibson the other day, I've mostly gone vegetarian the last few years so it tracks that I'm low iron. The supplements are working, just slowly and I'm not sure that's the actual problem. Doctors only know so much. I think I've got a shakti mat somewhere, I'll give it a try.

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 9 pts · 207d (1 reply)

Resident magpie used the birdbath finally ๐Ÿฆโ€โฌ› -> ๐Ÿ’ฆ -> ๐Ÿ‘.

Stood there, watched me fill it up, something clicked, jumped in.

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d

Might be the smell of fresh water or the splashing sounds that triggered it. But now that it knows, youโ€™ll have a regular visitor! I have a couple of magpies that visit my bird bath. One of them only ever drinks, the other one likes to get in and splash around. Only worry I have is the water heats up a lot on hot days, so I try to go change it out in the afternoons if itโ€™s a hot day.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 207d

Melbcat has started rubbing her nose and been placed in the cone of shame. Nooo

MeanElevator@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 207d

I have mentally checked out from work, and yet I persist to be logged on.

tombruzzo@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 208d

Oh no, someone who went to the Stop Making Sense show left their vinyl slip mat on their train seat when they got up. Is it worth handing into lost property at the station when it opens? How would you even let someone know to ask?

Taleya@aussie.zone · 8 pts · 207d (2 replies)

Trying the FREE LEMONS thing again since I found out they're apparently selling for 2 bucks a pop. Refilled the container three times so far.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 207d

Investing in mint and lemons ๐Ÿ“ˆ

Bottom_racer@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 207d

2 bucks a pop

eee that's pushing it. Shouldn't have pruned my retirement fund a few months ago :(

Alamutjones@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 207d

Iโ€™ve just had the most luxurious shower.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 207d

The concert last night was fucking incredible. No wonder people rave about his concerts. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. Amazing.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 207d

I feel like Iโ€™ve been hit by a truck. ๐Ÿซฉ I think Iโ€™m going to be forced to learn how to rest properlyโ€ฆ

Ok mental health day has been called in. Four day weekend here we go!

Catfish@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d (2 replies)

Check your work rules? Mine requires a cert if a day adjoins a weekend with a public holiday.

Force_majeure1234@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d

Yeh I do need a med cert but that's fine

Taleya@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 207d

yeah mine says that too. I don't do it because I'm a fuckin' 47 year old woman, not a child. Never had any consequences.

Like most things, getting into trouble is mostly made up

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 207d (10 replies)

Is there a mint shortage? Fresh is hardly there and I've been looking for dried in between marjoram and mixed herbs for yonks now. If there is a shortage then shit is dire.

SaneMartigan@aussie.zone · 7 pts · 207d (1 reply)

I just planted some spearmint hoping to grow it for tea. In a pot with a base so it doesn't root. hehe root.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d

My friend grows all my herbs for me cos I've used up all my growing power growing a human. I cbf going around there this weekend. I wanna spend the weekend with my husband doing what you find amusing. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 5 pts · 207d (2 replies)

Indian or Asian supermarkets and spice shops have it in 100 g bags

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d (1 reply)

Yeah that's where I'm gonna have to go.

Seagoon_@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d

These are the only places I go for spices, I even make special trips to spice shops.

Last week I bought 500 g bags of curry powders and various spices like allspice and cloves

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d (1 reply)

First I've heard of it. Piedmonte's still has it in little plastic containers. Don't recommend Psarakos as their herbs are always a bit tired.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 2 pts · 207d

I'm stumped why there's no dried mint at my coles or aldi. I need to start looking elsewhere.

SituationCake@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d (1 reply)

My local Coles had fresh mint in the sleeves a few days ago. If you can substitute with peppermint ( stronger flavour?) then maybe pour out the content of a couple of peppermint tea bags, or loose leaf peppermint tea? And now we all want to know what delicious things youโ€™re making!

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d

Nah I don't think it would work. I like using the dried for salad dressing, crumbed lamb cutlets, cucumber soup etc. It's handy to have in the cupboard. The fresh I use in cold drinks and in salads.

Taleya@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d

Go to Europa and get like half a kilo

Thornburywitch@aussie.zone · 6 pts · 207d

I've just typed the word "investment" wrongly three times in a row. I need a holiday. If I end up typing 'super fund' incorrectly, it's time for a medical certificate.

duncan_bayne@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 207d (3 replies)

Already planning Australia Day. Think I'll celebrate with a pint of VB (not my usual tipple) and a read of The Lucky Country.

RustyRaven@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d

I'm going to celebrate by finishing off a night shift at 7am, sleeping as much as I can, then going back in the evening to start another shift at 7pm.

CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone · 4 pts · 207d

He's already tried to bite a few times today. He really does not like being touched.

melbaboutown@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d

Poor little man. Zylkene helps calm Melbcat (but itโ€™s so expensive now itโ€™s a special occasion thing like for long drives)

Taleya@aussie.zone · 3 pts · 207d
