It's ackshually about the trials and travails of Applejack brewer turned fur trapper Jean Kayak as he attempts to survive the winter wilderness, trap hundreds of beavers, and win the heart of a beautiful furrier in this man vs. nature Metroidvania silent film adventure where he goes from drunken fool to master fur trapper.

First thought... "The fuck is this?"

After a Wikipedia read and watching the trailer, I know what I'm watching later today.

- No luck catching them hundreds of beavers, then?

- It's just a couple of them, actually.

it's one of my top favourite movies and i forced my brother and his family to watch it when the local cinema showed it for some reason :D they were not disappointed.

I found it to be good, but not great. I gets a bit repetetive.

I think it's really good. Some parts i found genuinely hilarious. But at the same time, it's kind of just a long looney tunes sketch

I tried to watch it and noped out in minutes, is something wrong with me, usually I like crazy or creative stuff.

It actually takes a while to start building, honestly. I was unimpressed initially but wanted to know what all the fuss was about and by mid-way through the film I got it. At a certain point the mash-up of silent film, looney tunes gags, and video game mechanics of the main character slowly getting more tools and using them to move the plot forward starts to become brilliant in its elegance and how it ends up tying it all together pretty neatly.

If you just watch the first 20-ish minutes, you might feel like "how can they even make a movie out of this? It's just a bunch of silly gags in a row," but if you stick it out, the plot becomes more coherent, and things start to coalesce.

OK thank you for that explanation, I’ll retry a watch.
