Anyone else remember this thing?

The glow-in-the-dark Wacky Wallwalker from Froot Loops. You’d throw it on the wall and it would slowly crawl down.

We’d eat straight sugar, turn off the lights, and throw sticky spiders at the wall.

I miss when cereal came with free stuff inside. One time I got a disc with a demo of Sim City in it.

I got a mini Ghostbusters air raid siren from one once. That thing was loud af for a kid's toy.

I wouldn't think that was a good sales strategy for moms.

It was meant to go on bike handlebars but we just used it inside. Not sure if it helped them sell more cereal.

You might be able to download the game (or even play online), if it's considered "abandonware"

I threw one of these on my grandma’s ceiling, it got stuck and she had to get on top of a chair to get it down, and it left an eternal grease spot. Sorry, grandma!

Did that while renting a room at my friend's place, but with a nerf suction cup dart and the skylight. It took years to fall down and left a little rubber ring lol

The best thing that ever came in a box of cereal, besides the cereal, was Chex Quest. Funny how a corporate marketing scheme turned out to be an actually good Doom clone because they basically had no oversight and only had the simple task of promoting Chex and healthy eating habits, which is basically only seen in the opening cutscene.

I remember those from the 25¢ toy capsule dispenser at the grocery store. The wacky sticky hand too.

I got onenof these from the toy ball dispenser at a pizza hut, and within about 3 seconds of coming in the house flung it at the ceiling and got it stuck there. My mom was pissed and it left the telltale greasy spot

Yeah, but not from cereal. You could get them from those quarter vending machines in pizza places and arcades.

::dusts off some neurons that haven't fired in decades::

Whoa. Yes. I remember that entire box.

That toy was good for entire minutes of fun, until it collected all the pet hair and dust that collected in the carpet next to the baseboard.

The fact they used to be different flavors is fascinating (since they are all the same now).

I remember it would pick up all the dirt and you would have to wash it.

orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 5 pts · 215d

2 or 3 washes and it was toast.
