Looks familiar! I'm "My class is "elf"! " -years old"

If I'm not mistaken this was the cover for a version of Dungeons and Dragons. Classic art

Can't remember if it's AD&D 2E or a box set. I still own the original hardcopy, but no longer have the boxes.

I cannot overstate the impact that Elmore and his contemporaries did for the "look" of D&D in the late 1980's and 1990's. Between modules, rule books, and all the novels published at the time, their work was D&D.

Even in modern 5.5E I feel like they still draw inspiration from the old Elmore art

Uhhhhhh, I still think the dragon can take all 3 of you. Teamwork or no teamwork, he will end your team and not think anything of it.

Wait, three?... Is this an "and the horse you rode in on" situation or am i missing a character in the picture?

That backpack can easily be mistaken for a dwarf.

"Don't tell the elf..."

orbituary@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 1 pts · 210d

Juvenile dragons are doable by a smart duo.

I wanna listen to twilight force now.

It didn’t occur to me until right now how scary a dragon with “real” arms (as opposed to a front pair of legs) can be.

dejected_warp_core@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 209d

Exactly. A dragon with a more lizard-like body plan is already lethal enough. But sure, let's give it the ability to lift and open things too.

Reminds me of Rhapsody of Fire album art. Very cool.
