I guess they're announcing their false flags in advance now.

Would a false flag attack work if the majority of Americans see through the shit we're already doing in Iran? This might split the country even further among party lines at worst.

prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone · 4 pts · 171d

Yeah, I think it would given the current Congress and Democratic leadership

TiredTiger@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 171d

I'm not sure how effective it would be. I guess it depends on who believes their bullshit. If they have the military industrial complex firmly behind their grift, maybe they'll just say to hell with the rest of us. I've believed we're unavoidably headed for civil war since at least 2016, and nothing that's happened since has changed my mind on that.

I'm now seeing headlines about heightened security at the Oscars. I'm split on whether they're going to try shooting a celebrity to start riling people up for a ground invasion versus using this as an excuse to ramp up the panopticon. Either one is bad news.

So? If aspirations were horses beggars would ride.

And anyway, we gen-x were born for the bunker.

I guess they are priming the US population for an "Iranian Terrorist Act", so it likely won't take long before a false flag event is triggered in the US. Not that it will change them loosing against Iran, but they trigger all their offensive cards right now in a desperation..

eldavi@lemmy.ml · 9 pts · 172d (4 replies)

they're trying to change americans' appetite for boots on the ground in iran; a pearl harbor like attack would galvanize americans to do so and the mossad has already been caught trying to do this in the middle east and it will be easier to do in the united states.

Operation Northwoods II: Electric Boogaloo

eldavi@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 171d (2 replies)

and just like northwoods, we won't know it happened for decades afterwards; if ever at all. lol

DoucheBagMcSwag@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 0 pts · 171d (1 reply)

Northwoods didn't happen

If it did we very likely would have gone to war with cuba

eldavi@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 171d

i meant that we didn't learn about northwoods until well after it was pitched.

Well -

  • They want regime change
  • They profit from military contracting
  • They profit from increased national debt
  • They don't care about expending the lives of others

Yup, I meant to imply that with regime change (strategic dominance etc.).

CannonFodder@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 172d (2 replies)

Why Cali? Seems like Florida would be a much better option.

anotherspinelessdem@lemmy.ml · 9 pts · 172d

But Donny Dearest doesn't like Cali

poopsmith@lemmy.ml · 2 pts · 171d

Assuming it was actually Iran doing it, I think you'd have to assume it would be about logistics: perhaps that's the easiest dense civilian target for them to hit since the path east from Iran has fewer U.S. allies to intercept the drone. Though if you can hit the coast, going after targets in the PNW could cause more damage to the U.S. military.

If the Trump administration does this as a false flag, California could be a good target to garner support for the war.

BradleyUffner@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 171d (3 replies)

Why would anyone believe anything Trump's FBI says?

FatVegan@leminal.space · 7 pts · 171d (1 reply)

You can just say FBI

BradleyUffner@lemmy.world · 7 pts · 171d

There's regular corruption, and then there's Trump level corruption. You still make a very valid point though.

Did they also want to give us Yellow Cake?

Tangentism@lemmy.ml · 5 pts · 171d

If anything, it will be a false flag attack

Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 171d

This makes no sense. This isn't iran. This is Trump.

ZeroHora@lemmy.ml · 3 pts · 171d

Maybe when Iran said that tech companies are valid targets they meant tech companies in the American soil. Extremely unlike but I can dream at least.

I mean, the empire of japan managed to get balloon bombs to float over to california, but i dont buy this

I imagine weather balloon fans are taking a beat atm

PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 169d

While it was first intercontinental weapon it was, well, a balloon. Of 9300 launched only around 300 managed to cross the Pacific (and it was probably much less since we all know how Usians are about seeing flying objects and having wartime paranoia). Only one caused any human losses, killing 6 people in Oregon.

Alphamaddog@lemmy.ml · 1 pts · 171d

There are Chinese stealth submersible drone carriers already existing. China has been selling their silkworm missle to gulf nations for decades now. Like the US, they aren't shy about selling weapon systems. This isn't as far a stretch as it might seem.
