Yeah, I have a Rover 8 I picked up after I broke my arm so I could still ride while I was healing, and even used it was $800. It is fun though! Just be careful around corners, trikes tip easy, even this low to the ground.
Yeah, I'd love a recumbent trike style commuter ride, but there's no way I'm spending used-car-level-money on one. I assume they're expensive because they're niche... but that's not going to change if they cost so much.

Things like this do look interesting (velomobile version?) but its a shame how they are always so expensive compared to a normal bike.
