"But not all screen use is equal."
I think this is key. Curated, age-appropriate, educational content vs engagement-maximizing, algorithmically selected slop. Parents need to be in control of what kids watch, not tech companies.

Honestly toddlers shouldn't have any screen time. Even the 'good' kind is brain rotting.

My child psych professor was adamant about this damn near fifteen years ago, it's pretty well established that there is basically no amount of screen time that doesn't make kids worse off.

I have no desire to be a parent but trying to avoid addicting your kids to tech sounds like a nightmare on top of a nightmare.

It sucks but it's made me realize a huge chunk of society is focused on addictive psychology. It's easier to see with kids stuff but it's everywhere.

The headline is a bit clickbaity - Tough New Guidance IF YOU DONT LISTEN YOULL GET A VISIT FROM THE DIGIPIGGIES gonna be doing the rounds on FB next.
I did expect a bit more ragebait in the article but its just common sense guidance, the police aint gonna be visiting if your child gets hold of your phone.
