Why trying to get Tanisha when you can become Tanisha.

We found it! The comic beep didin't manage to remove the artist's signature from! Thy are now all subject to advertising!

For people unaware, this thread might shed some light.

Chose to break 9yrs of relationship and engagement to become who I really am. That was a few years ago.

Things haven't fully recovered yet but hope I can confidently say it was the best decision I made in the future

You got this, ignore the jackass. Life after transition remains difficult, but it's so much better

They're a person, not a statistic. Telling someone fighting with depression that they're going to lose that fight is a dick move and actively harmful. If this is a genuine mistake rather than transphobic ragebaiting, please consider the effects your words have on people.

And to all the trans folk reading this: You got this. Don't let haters get you down just because you're making changes to improve your life. <3

No, that's the opposite, no one is a statistic, statistics work on populations, not on individuals. You have no clue what you're talking about and you're just spitting shit out of your mouth, get out.

Interesting you bring up blackjack because there are absolutely people out there who, through skill, can flip the odds and make a profit (i.e. card counting).

People aren't automatons and don't rigidly follow probabilistic models. Especially probabilistic models likely created to push an agenda.

Have you thought about shutting the fuck up and maybe burry yourself? Just a suggestion.

Shut up, you're a piece of shit

Don't try to push people to suicide then blame it on stats. Just shut up.

That estrogen contained Rogaine.

speedythefirst@lemmy.zip · 8 pts · 152d

It does do that. I was thinning a little on top before I started and now I've got luscious locks!

Paranomaly@sh.itjust.works · 8 pts · 152d (1 reply)

Rogaine (Minoxidil) works by countering a type of male hormone that leads to hairloss, so lowering all of your make hormones in favor of lady hormones can have the same effect

ragebutt@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 7 pts · 152d

That’s finasteride (blocking dht). Minoxidil is a vasodilator that increases follicle size. Otherwise what you wrote is basically correct

ragebutt@lemmy.dbzer0.com · 4 pts · 152d

When I’ve worked with older trans clients spironolactone seems to be what really kickstarts hair growth, especially if they get it in before alopecia really sets in and miniaturizes follicles in a way that can’t be reversed (at least with current medications, and barring surgical intervention). Estrogen too. Either way you’re reducing the amount of androgens. As a result it can be much more effective than rogaine, which works as a vasodilator to enlarge hair follicles (probably, mechanism isn’t fully understood) or finasteride/propecia, which works by blocking androgen DHT rather than reducing it.

I’m not familiar with research on efficacy for this purpose but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was more effective. While some people have dramatic responses to minoxidil and finasteride many have a more minor response or none at all, even.

This looks like it's easier to switch team than to ask the girls out.

unruheherd@lemmy.zip · 11 pts · 152d (1 reply)

Looks like the comic person already had a relationship, but I don't know if the comic is based on a real person

village604@adultswim.fan · 3 pts · 151d

At first glance I thought (former) dude was talking to someone in a work break room, so I can see their confusion.

Damaskox@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 152d

Maybe, but it wouldn't be the same to have a relationship with a girl if you also were one, since I doubt changing teams also automatically changes your sexual preferences
