Would be a lot easier to program!

The game is Toejam & Earl. Falling off the end of a level sends you to the previous level, unless you fall through a hole in that map, then you fall to the next level, and so on.

There's also a secret place where you can fall off in level one to go to the secret zero level.

Yooooo thank you

a_non_monotonic_function@lemmy.world · 2 pts · 145d

Not sure if that sounds cool or irritating.

Feels like there should be a Minecraft mod to do this.

Falling off the edge of a flat world and ending up on another literally happens to someone in a very early Discworld book.

Loce@lemmy.world · 20 pts · 145d (3 replies)

This is incorrect. Apparently, flat earthers obviously regard other planets as spheres, unlike Earth, of course.

brsrklf@jlai.lu · 4 pts · 145d

In the Elder Scrolls lore, among other weird concepts, planets are literal gods and are not really spheres. they only appear so because they're infinite and impossible to grasp for human minds.

What flat-earthers believe is at least as much batshit nonsense as that fictional cosmology that was specifically written to be batshit nonsense.

Atomic@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 144d

They don't believe in other planets, at all. They're just projections on the firmament. Or some stupid shit like that.

Kind of cool how every single government in the world all cooperate on this to give the illusion of a spherical earth. I mean, imagine how much money they spend on flying an airplane 24/7 to make it look like ISS is in space. And who's gonna project Saturn at all times just in case John over in Manchester wants to take a look with his telescope?

A true marvel of human cooperation

lugal@sopuli.xyz · 1 pts · 144d

One aspect of flat earth is to put earth as the center of the universe again. Earth isn't one of many planets and Sun isn't one of many stars, all the other planets and stars are just dots in the sky

rapchee@lemmy.world · 6 pts · 144d (6 replies)

Sv443@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 144d (5 replies)

gravity is a hoax, things just want to move down on their own

rapchee@lemmy.world · 4 pts · 144d (4 replies)

are you saying i'm (edit:) not trying hard enough to fly??

HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world · 3 pts · 144d

the harder you try to fly the harder it is to miss the ground

Sv443@sh.itjust.works · 3 pts · 144d (2 replies)

the government mandated brain worm made you forget you can fly

frog@feddit.uk · 2 pts · 144d
