Christ, why am I not surprised by this.

Russia's military is a collapsing mess, isn't it?

supersquirrel@sopuli.xyz · 23 pts · 134d (6 replies)

I do not consider the russian military a professional military anymore, the personnel and institutional knowledge loss is way too deep.

It is rather closer to say russia has the largest mobilized untrained militia on earth, a militia almost entirely on the edge of descending into a mass human rights crisis from catastrophic logistics issues and shortages.

And yet they keep putting up with it.

I mean Russia had a whole communist revolution and they still turned it into a bootlicking contest some things are just cultural requirements

Klear@quokk.au · 2 pts · 134d (3 replies)

That's a communism thing, not just a Russia thing.

doo@sh.itjust.works · 7 pts · 134d (2 replies)

Soviet Union was never a communist or even a socialist state. Tyrannical oligarchy with slaves, casts, kings, you name it. Disregard for human life is cultural for them. Traditional values.

Damn fake scotsmen, they ruined fake scotland!

DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social · 2 pts · 133d

I take it you're not a fan of democratic republics because North Korea exists either?

I mean, if that's an actual example of a Scotsman it certainly doesn't sound good.

It's not like people can just go around claiming to be things they aren't.

Putin's well on his way to getting back to the 18th century Catherine the Great. By these accounts, this puts Russia on par with the 1920s almost :

I won't be surprised if this is true, but right now I'd take this claim with a grain of salt. In war, both sides smear each other with extremely exaggerated claims. "Truth is the first casualty of war" as the saying goes.

Agreed cannibalism is a very insane thing to claim. Also considering Russian history it does give me a slight propaganda smell

They're eating corporals, they're eating privates.
