This. The fire departments in my country measure the danger zone for tanker truck explosions in kilometers. Not even weapons grade explosives.
There are numerous videos of people idly watching a fire hundreds of meters away (burning truck, or factory) and then the crowd panics when half a truck lands next to them.
Drones aren't CAS. Not the way this article uses the term anyways. They are talking about destroying large groups of enemies. Drones can't do that. They do small pockets of enemy. Again, it is the opposite of what the article describes. Not an analogue.
To be frank: I don't see the analogue. To use the methods employed in that article requires air supremacy, not just air superiority. That is a luxury Ukraine will never have. Why? russian aircraft will always have the technological advantage even if they refuse to use it, the dramatic increase in the efficacy and prevalence of MANPADS means, unlike what most say regarding Tank usefullness, the era of CAS is all but over, and finally, Ukraine simply does not have even close to the overwhelming amount of air forces the NATO coalition brought to bear.
As russia's air defense attrition reaches critical levels I do expect to see a dramatic increase in Ukraine's use and effectiveness of Air assaults on ground forces, but I will eat my hat the day a yellow and blue F16 flies over Moscow, let alone carpet bombing of russian trench lines.
This is showing combat footage involving visible humans and should have been flagged [Combat] NSFW, but, I'll give it a one-time, non-precedential exception, because the only injury was just a flesh wound.
I understand it is cathartic to editorialize the Title and agree with the sentiment. I'm also under no illusion that this forum has a strong pro-Ukrainian bias. That said, it is convention not to editorialize titles for good reason. Mainly, that it emphasizes the bias within this forum and casts a shadow over the accuracy of the information being provided here.
No rule was broken, and I'd prefer to not go through the hassle of outright declaring it a rule. I simply ask that the community try to resist the urge to editorialize in the future. For the good of this community and Ukraine in general.
This is factually inaccurate. Ukraine has made several overtures for peace that russia has declined for imperialist reasons. Also, Ukraine has democratically declared their disinterest in becoming a russian vassal as evidenced by their ouster of the pro-russian government, which precipitated this whole thing. Freedom is more important than peace, particularly when all that needs to be done to obtain peace is for russia to withdraw to their pre 2014 borders and cut the shit.
Cries for peace at all cost are cries for capitulation, and consequently, pro-invader garbage.

Thank you for attending this TED talk.
Honestly I was thinking I'd have to delete it for being AI slop based on the thumbnail photo, but the videos are-jaw dropping

The most important takeaway from it I got was that he called it 'Ukraine', and not 'the Ukraine'.
And the bot spam in the comments don't even bother to not repeat themselves...
i use an ad blocker and didn't know there was a problem thank you.
Most critically, the sensors and antennas (you know, the things without which the vessel is functionally useless) are all exposed.
