That one was truly fucked up. I realy liked most of black mirror, but that one was a bit to much for me. What broke me was seeing the guy at the end missing multiple teeth and it's very obvious where they went...
That's because they're talking about another one, where someone's braindamage is countered by a part of their brain being ran on a commercial cloud. Of course, enshittification follows, and her husband resorts to extreme measures to pay for the increasing cost.
Ah, gotcha. Thank you for the information. I'm at least a bit behind on that show and don't remember that premise from it at all, so I think it must have been after I last watched it. I think the last Black Mirror thing I saw was that interactive choice movie, but I might be misremembering.
FWIW, I also liked Love, Death & Robots and it was mostly less depressing and/or frightening.
You're right, several of them would be perfectly relevant in this case, but I was specifically thinking of an episode where they put electric contact lenses in soldiers and made them think they were fighting monstrous creatures rather than other people.
When the protagonist of the episode realized that and refused to fight any more, he found that the contacts were not removable by the user. His superiors put horrific displays on his lenses. Because of their nature, he couldn't escape even by closing his eyes. Eventually he agreed to behave so as not be forced to see such horrible things.
Go with the times. Make a version where they fall into The Receiver's gaping colon for 10,000 years. Make Hampster Dance start playing after 5,000 years just to fuck with them.
Locks the subject in a comatose state forced to watch an endlessly looping music video where Rick Astley makes increasingly more menacing eye contact with them as he says, "Never gonna give you up!"
It reminds me of that Black Mirror episode where you can clone your consciousness into a personal assistant Alexa thingy, and then when it doesn't behave right because, you know... it's you, and it doesn't want to be trapped into a personal assistant thingy, you torture it by leaving it alone for a year of simulated time. And then when it misbehaved again, the character left it alone for like 15,000 years.

I don't actually remember that detail. I mostly remember the premise of the episode: torturing you with visuals to make you comply.
But yeah. Torture in general, physical or mental, is messed up.

Or anything that might help with mental problems.

The most fucked up thing is salvia has reverse tolerance. The more you use it the stronger it will be.
