Isn't this what Apple has been doing for decades now? Wait until tech stabilizes and doing it right? It tried to really innovate with the AR/VR headset and it flopped.
In practical terms, what such extinction would look like? AI launching nukes? Designing and releasing some virus? Building some robot army and killing everyone? I don't think anything like that is realistic. I can imagine AI hacking some systems and severely disrupting everything but "extinction"? I don't really see that.
You're right. I didn't realize all 12 jurors need to agree to acquit a guilty person for it to count as jury nullification. I thought it means more generally "I don't care what the law says, I will vote not guilty anyway".

The bad:
it eats up a lot of battery on Android. There's a bug open for it for months now. After playing around with some settings I got it to the point where the battery usage goes up on mobile data only. Once I'm back to WiFi it's ok. I have deployed netmaker locally and testing it is on my to do list but as things are now I can go through the day without issues with netbird and I'm kind of hoping they will fix it before I'll have the time to test netmaker

I would be worried they will drop it and force you to use their servers at some point. Netbird at least is marketed as a self-hosted solution.
I've been dealing with issues like that for around 30 years now, even since I started using Linux, so I'm used to it. You will never get 100% of features working on a alternative, open source, privacy respecting OS. If I want to share location I can copy coordinates from CoMaps or something. For live sharing there are self-hosted options.

Signal requires Google Play Services to share location so it doesn't work for me on Graphene OS at all.
